An Ode to Awesome Dads | Happy Father’s Day

To the men behind the scenes in our lives. The ones who nurture. Who protect. Who console, and uplift. To the men that are always there with a shoulder, and a hug.  To the men that rose to the occasion, and the ones that teach their daughters how to be loved…and their sons how to really love.

To the Messy face cleaners and booger wipers. To the rock skipping instructors and invisible super hero cape wearers. To the unspoken and unsung heroes, and the best bear huggers. To the sometimes little boys in big bodies. To the men that stuck around and stand up for their children, and truly love them..not because they have to, but because they need to with every ounce of their being.

To the spirit lifters, and guardians of sweet dreams. The monster in the closet fighter. The men that fight monsters afar and the mom’s that have to play daddy while they are away…. You are amazing too.

To the light bringers, the best friends ever, the fixer uppers..and the daddy’s that aren’t so good at fixing dishwashers, but can mend a broken heart with his arms tied behind his back….

And to the Women..The Women who play both Mommy and Daddy.

We say Thank you. Thank you Dads (and Moms). Thank you for being awesome.

And a Thank you to the man that has made me a Mother. A Mother now of Five Souls (even if one isn’t in my arms just yet). The man that restored my faith in fathers and gave my children a gift beyond worth or measure. Wes, you are amazing.
