The sweetest family met me in the mountains for a surprise session for Mama. I have never met a more soulful or inspiring crew. I love their hearts and the moments they gave me.

Healing in Art

It has sure been a year of high and lows, but being able to channel pain into art brings healing... and beauty. We played and cuddled and splashed in the Colorado Mountains.

Every family I photograph has a story all their own. Like each one of us, the commonality is that even though it isn’t always happy or easy or uncomplicated, they are beautiful.

M4H P52 Weekly Theme “Shadows”

I hope you are all having a beautiful weekend! I am just popping in with our new weekly theme. I am always trying to find themes that can transcend to all types of photography. This week since light (or lack of) can really make an image go from mundane to special I want to see some drama. Lets play up the shadows. It can be any interpretation of the theme.

Also, I want to reiterate that if you indeed are new to this project and want to jump in you are completely welcome. You can find details on what this project is about HERE.

The theme this week is:

Shadows.

I know this one may push some of us. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with! I have a feeling the flickr pool is just going to blow me away!

I really love these themes…they push my creative side, which I desperately need :)..so thank you for taking the time to do it! Also, I just LOVE reading the weekly “inspired” photographers you interview….they are all so talented and inspiring!

i love your weekly theme choices. it will challenge me. i find shadows tricky but love that kind of work. any tips ?

  Honestly, when shooting for this just look for the light. Try to find creative ways to embrace different lighting an even low light situations. You can also interpret this anyway you like so it doesn’t have to be completely literal. Maybe try watching the gallery in flickr to see what others come up with and it might get the juices flowing. 🙂 Black and white imagery works especially well with this kind of theme as well.
