Moments Matter | Fort Collins Family Photographer

Family photography is important. It really is profoundly special and something I firmly believe that every family needs. We all make pictures of our kids daily with all of the advancements in technology now. Anyone with an iPhone can surely take a beautiful portrait or capture a special milestone. Document your lives as they are. There is beauty and love in that. It’s essential in fact.

But hire someone to come and be there with you so you can be there with them… with your family. That has it’s place too. You deserve to just be present. To be free to love on your people. To run and play and explore and be wholly there in those moments.

And then you deserve to have something tangible and timeless and meaningful. Something that shows them that you were present. Something that shows you how much they love you.

And yes, you can have your picture made all together just about anywhere. There is a place and time for that too. But photography can be such a grand experience. Imagine you can make memories while making photos. Before you know it you are counting the days till your next family session and playing a game of remember when… Whether your kid lost his mind or you fell in the lake dragging your husband with you, or you simply frolicked and picked flowers together– that day was one you get to tuck away as something from a special time in your life.

You see, I know family pictures seem lackluster or second rate because they can be rescheduled or maybe even cast aside for just a little while longer. Maybe it isn’t a one day event like a wedding or a crowning moment like the birth of a child. Those things are sacred and can’t be repeated. I understand the urgency and necessity.

But Moms and Dads… this time in your life is sacred too.

Next year could hold something entirely different for your family. We all can’t say what our future holds for us.

What we can say is this day, this moment… you loved hard.

Next year you will be just a bit older and maybe just a bit wiser but so will your family. You all may have grown, or the size of your family has as well too.

But maybe your child has finally lost her baby face. Maybe your preteen son shot up six inches overnight. Maybe your child no longer needs you to read that story about excavators fourteen times before bed. Maybe your oldest now is trading up dolls for lipgloss and heels.

The point is…life is precious. There are so many variables. We are all changing, all of the time.

    Get in the frame.

Make it a priority. Your moments matter. All those little details count.
