#M4H14WK31 LANDSCAPE
This is Boulder Field at Hickory Run State Park in Carbon County, PA (about an hour and 20 from my house). This field is about 400 x 1800 feet and at least 12 feet deep. It was formed not from debris of a retreating glacier but as a result of glacier related climatic extremes on rock outcrops. It has remained unchanged for the past 20,000 years. My daughter Chloe is in the middle right of the picture for scale : D I love how this tree is growing out of the rocks with no dirt is sight.

While we don’t have the traditional landscapes covered with trees around here, we do have our own sort, and I couldn’t be happier!

M4H 31/52: Landscape. Lately this couch has been much of the landscape of my life. I’ve been tired for what seems like ages. Not just tired, but TIRED. Exhausted. In a debilitating way. Among other things. I have so many things to do but sometimes all I can do is colapse on that couch and sleep, and feel bad because I can’t get anything done. Within the last two weeks I have finally found out what is going on and am moving towards better days, but there are still lots of days like this.

Week 31 ~ Landscape
I live in wales, known for being picturesque and pretty but I’ve barely been out this week due to preparing for a visit to my grandparents to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. Driving home I remembered I’d forgotten this weeks theme so grabbed a quick shot. This scene reminds me of travelling home when I was younger 🙂

I did already submit one for the week, but it was literally my backyard, although it’s a delightful landscape I wanted to capture a more classic landscape significant to my local geography.

Well we couldn’t wish for a more beautiful landscape where we live so I was excited for this week’s theme but we have had nothing but rain during the summer holidays. This photo was taken just before the storm came across the lake and those lovely mountains aren’t even visible…still we managed to get a few hours of playing down by the beach before it hit! Lac Leman, beautiful in all weathers and a place of much enjoyment for the boys!

This was the perfect theme for me this week because I’m on holidays in my home province of Newfoundland. The landscape here is drastically different than the flat fields of the prairies and I miss it every day when I’m not here.
Newfoundland is salt water and seaweed. It is rocks and hills and brooks through the trees. It is lobsters and the smell of fish and fresh bread. It is breezy days and humid nights. It is blueberries picked straight from the bush, distant icebergs and sunsets over the bay. No matter how far I go, Newfoundland will always be home to me xo
P.S. This shot is straight out of camera because I don’t have access to Photoshop while I’m on vacation

I am an aussie girl, and one thing that I really missed when we lived overseas was the landscape. This blueish, grayish, yellowish hue that is so unique, and so beautiful. It is a feast for my eyes whenever we go for a bush walk, and on this day, you wanted to keep exploring when it was time to turn back…your blue mood matched the blue landscape.

I love how photography can create a fantasy and take us somewhere that we never imagined having access to. This field is about two minutes from my house in a small city of 100,000 people at the intersection of two very busy roads and surrounded by a wire fence. Several times a week, my kids and I will come here to feed and pet these very friendly horses. But with the mountains, sky, trees and field it looks to me like these two lovelies live in the middle of nowhere and are free to roam over a wide area wherever they please.

Couldn’t resist adding this photo as well. Although taken in 1971 I received it in the post this week. My father had some 35 mm slides made into photos for me and this is my favourite. My Mum, Grandfather and Grandmother.

31/52 Landscape. I had big plans this week. I was going to get all adventurous, and try and step outside of the box and be a little bit arty with the theme….but unfortunately I am sick, I have contracted the dreaded ‘man flu’ – so you can imagine how sick I am! Yesterday I went to a tried and true location overlooking my hometown. Looking at the landscape made me forget about my ‘man flu’ for a little bit at least!
