See that face of astonishment? That’s because only 2 out of every 3 children with Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome live past the age of 2 years old. Today is Alexander’s 4th birthday. Thrilling Astonishment.

Day 1 with his baby sister. We waited 42 long weeks to meet this little lady face to face and she was more than worth it! I see a little bit of both brothers in her newborn face. Amazing how the heart grows with each new addition.

19/52 faces of influence
These are the pictures of my mum and grandma, who have been strong women that have a great influence in my life.
My loving grandma past away this week and I just had to think of her for this weeks theme. She was such a wonderful, loving and strong woman.
The difficulties you “face” in life do not come to destroy you, but to show you what you’re made of and just how strong you are. – Unknown
She experienced a war and many other difficulties, but she always fought, loved and was there for her big family (4 girls, 12 grandkids and 6 grandgrandkids) and so many other people.
In memory of you…

Week 19 | Faces
Apis mellifera ligustica or the Italian bee.
We got our first hive this year and I am so in love with them. These two ladies were about to take flight. I love that in this shot I was able to get both a profile and frontal “portraits.” One even looks like she is waving. I was able to get pretty close to them with my 100mm macro lens and didn’t get stung. — at Sarah Boccolucci Photography | Doula.

An unexpected face from tonight’s sparkler experiment.
“Not to live for the day, that would be materialistic — but to treasure the day. I realize that most of us live on the skin — on the surface — without appreciating just how wonderful it is simply to be alive at all.”

I know this photo isn’t perfectly in focus, but I just love how it captures one of my favorite faces that my son makes. It’s his hysterical laughing face and I love how the wider angle lens highlights the goofiness of it. — with Cherish Photography.

I have just been thinking about the Face’s theme during a return flight from Valencia- Spain to London However, the inspiration arrived as soon as I touched the Gatwick International Airport and was welcome by THE QUEEN!
I took 3 very quick pictures on my IPhone while carrying my bags and chasing after my family and here’s the result.. Very imperfect but I love the original idea of having her portraits made of portraits. They are just as beautiful as she was (and still is..) — at Gatwick Airport.
