A few weeks back we tried to find this waterhole – you know the ‘Sunday Family Drive’ that as kids we hated doing – but for some reason we come full circle as parents and punish our children by doing the same…. Anyway, by the time we found the track to the falls (no spousal arguments I promise!) it was too late in the afternoon to actually walk there and we returned home. Fast forward to today’s ‘Sunday Family Drive’ and we hit the jackpot! So worth the effort of returning. A beautiful and serene spot.

I took the boys out to get some Christmas card pictures. They were not in the mood at all, so instead we played in the leaves and explored the park for a few hours. We haven’t spent this much time together, just playing without worrying about anything else, in a very long time.
This little creek caught their attention and we had to get some sticks to play in the water. I think he could have spent hours here.

living in the city, you tend to forget how serene it is out in the country under an autumn night. it’s amazing how far light could travel on earth, we live 20 miles from Scranton Pa (home of “the office”) and we still get light pollution from them. but i’ll take this vs livin in the city anyday.

Remembrance Sunday. United Kingdom …

You fallen service men and women … you are not forgotten. We REMEMBER you. You gave your lives so that future generations could have a better one.

War is anything but serene. It is plagued with blood, tears and death. 🙁 This moment however ironic it may seem … was calming, peaceful, and yes, serene.
