I photographed my shirt. I often say that orange is my favorite color…but I say that because it’s much less complicated than saying, “my favorite color is really a combination of a beautiful peachy, rose gold tint with a touch of haze against an ivory backdrop.”

“My Favorite Color” – Project 52 – Week 5

My family was fortunate enough to be on vacation this week in Cancun, Mexico. I’m not usually an early riser, but every morning the waves and solitude called me out to the beach. When I checked the theme for this week I knew exactly how I wanted to portray my favorite color blue. The ocean is one of my favorite examples of it. This color palette is in use throughout my house. It brings me comfort and peace.

“This home has endless love and laundry”

I painted the laundry room this week. I felt like the high-traffic room needed some brightening up, and I decided it needed to be teal.

One of the first things people learn about me is my love for the colour teal. My camera bag, my camera strap, my business branding, half of my wardrobe, all teal.

When you love something, you should surround yourself with it right? 😉

How can I pick just one when they all are so lovely and meaningful?!?
I decided to do a RAINBOW of colors because in essence white contains an equal balance of all the colors of the spectrum and I am fascinated by it and a huge believer in color therapy.
As a child, I loved the color GREEN (represented by the crayon). It makes complete sense to me why I gravitated to that color which is the most balanced and soothing color there is. I grew up in an insecure world and was unconsciously seeking extra comfort.
As I became a teenager into early adolescents, my favorite color shifted to BLUE (represented by the sharpener) which enhances communication and that was perfect for me then because I was really shy and introverted.
I then wore a lot of BLACK when I went through my phase of self-expression and discovery.
When I met and married my husband, my favorite color became PINK. It is the universal color for love and it also supports your heart chakra.
And, now, since I began my photography journey, I am seeing and appreciating my world alive in bursts of color and am loving all of them together!!

Purple is absolutely, hands down, my favorite color. As a result, I was on photographic choice overload this week and procrastinated until the end. I’m really happy I waited, because I happened to come across my freeze dried wedding bouquet this morning when the sun was pouring into our bedroom at just the right time. My perfect purple flowers from a perfect day will always make me happy!

I don’t actually have a favorite color…I’m kind of eclectic like that. But I do love vibrant colors so I couldn’t resist snapping this photo of my youngest eating a lemon.

The hubby and I were in for a huge disappointment the first time we gave a lemon wedge to our oldest child (only 2 at the time) expecting to laugh hysterically as his face contorted at his initial taste of the sour fruit. I sat poised with my camera ready but low and behold, he actually liked it. And ate the whole thing.

Each of our children has followed suit so there was no fanfare when I gave my nearly three year old half a lemon as a snack. But there were plenty of pictures anyway.

My middle son lives for new “suits”. We have an entire tub filled with costumes. He is the most imaginative child I know. I love watching him get lost in a world of make believe.

And, there’s no better color than a blue Oklahoma sky. I love the sky and all the colors it produces. Honestly, it was hard for me to choose one favorite color, but the blue of a lovely sky is hard to beat.

The color of the sea

M4H 5/52: favorite color.

My favorite color is a little hard to nail down exactly, but it is the color of the sea. Where I live the sea is usually green-blue but can be anywhere from emerald to turquoise to my favorite, gray green or just moody gray completely. This glass represents many of the shades that the sea can be.
