Lets get to know you! How would you describe yourself in three sentences?

I am a busy bee and a perfectionist. I love animals, which is why I have 3 dogs and a horse. And I love my job.

What sparked your passion for Photography?

Photography was a challenge for me, and it still is. Since I love the goal of creating something perfect photography give me something to improve and work harder on. Every shoot I learn a little more and I feel like I get a little closer to the perfect image.

What Camera/Equipment did you start out with?

I started with my moms old Canon 30D and the Canon 7D was my first camera.

If you could only use one lens an entire session which one would you choose and why?

I go back and forth between the 85 and the 35. Right now I am stuck on my 85 😉

What advice would go give to someone just beginning in photography and hoping to have a business of their own?

Don’t give up. It’s not an easy industry to jump into and with so many photographers it’s getting harder and harder to really stand out. Really find what makes you unique and special but ultimately let your images speak for themselves.

What was your first official Photographer crush if you had one?

Amanda K, and she still is my fav photographer.

What kind of photos do you like to take for just yourself when not working with clients?

I love portraits and light. When I just shoot formyself I always shoot during the golden hour and try to suck more and more light into my lens.

If you could photograph absolutely anyone who would it be dead or alive?

Carly Rae Jepsen, she is too darn cute.

Describe your style in 3 words.

Organic, muted, clean.

Most embarrassing moment on a session would be?

Umm, I actually don’t have one. I broke my shoe on a session once though, not really embarrassing.

Any challenges you have had to overcome to be where you are today?

My age was an issue last year, not as much this year. When people found out I was only 22 I think they judged my talent and ability to run a business. But I proved them wrong.

Favorite time of day to shoot is?

Golden hour

If you had to stop taking photos right now, what would you do instead?

I guess just continue to run L&L (Lemonade and Lenses)

Have you attended college or had any formal education in Photography?

I went to NKU for a B.S in Geochemistry but have never taken a photography class in my life.

What do you do to get your clients to relax with you?

I always meet with my seniors before our sessions so we can meet, talk and so I can get them all excited.

What are your photography related goals for 2012?

I actually did a whole blog post on my 2012 goals 😉 I called it the the 36 in 365 project.

How do you push yourself to keep growing and learning? Any Big Aha! Moments?

During my busy season I don’t. But during my off season I try to push myself in every way. I go out and shoot in crapy light, new locations, etc.

Biggest Photography related insecurity?

Not making my clients feel beautiful in their images.

Digital or Prints?

Well Digitals sell for higher and photography is a business, so digitals 😉

How do you set yourself apart from other local photographers?

My style def sets me apart. A lot of girls come to me because no one else in the area offers what I do. It’s kinda nice.

What do you think your next photography related investment will be?

Umm… I don’t know, I have 2 bodies and all the lenses I need right now. I really want to build a studio in my back yard. Does that count?
