M4H P52 Week 9 “Color” Winner and some Favorites!

I don’t know where the time is going but it seems to be just flying on by!! It seems like I seriously just sat down and chose last week’s favorites!  The flickr gallery is so awe inspiring and I seriously love to comb through and pick photos every week though so I suppose its a bit of a treat for me!

Just a reminder that in order to WIN the weekly theme your photo has to be taken for that week. You however do not need to have a photo for that week to be featured. I know sometimes life catches up (as a woman that is grossly behind lol!) or that you have an image you have already taken that you so love and think would be perfect so I won’t hold it against ya but to get the prize for that week you do need to take that photo that particular week. Someone asked in the flickr group discussion so i thought I would address it here.

If I could feature everyone, I absolutely would.  This week was testimony that there is inspiration to be found everywhere and I was SO impressed that so many could take seemingly mundane objects and find such masterful and beautiful ways to photograph them.  As always it was no easy task to pick just one winner!

M4H: Color

Not only is Benson my min me, he’s also my little shopping buddy. He went with me last night to get some essentials…baby food, formula, diapers, etc. I’m on his favorite aisle…the one with the puffs. This child LOVES his food (we don’t call him chunky cheeks for nothing)…and buggy rides. I love that you can see that sweet little smile peeping out behind his paci. And a little side note: he has mastered coughing and sneezing with the paci in his mouth and NOT letting it fall out of his mouth.

Seriously I could have chosen just about any photo for this week, they were all that amazing but this photo instantly caught my eye. The depth of field, that smile and the fact that this is going to make such an amazing addition to her memory album someday just totally swayed me. And the fact that she made such an AMAZING photo in target of all places!! What a creative interpretation of the theme!! Just adore this so much!!

Week 9 – Color

After a long time of trying to conceive our second child, we finally had a second color line appear on a pregnancy test this week!!! I know this image isn’t as vibrant as it should be for a color theme but the mere presence of a second line on that test strip has filled our hearts with so much joy!

(it’s funny that this photo group is finding out about our pregnancy before anyone else!)

I had so many different ideas for this week.. I wanted to do something fun and bright outside. It rained all.week.long. Super gloomy days on top of colds and ear infections. Alas, we stayed inside.. and played.. so this is what our week looked like, big sister trying and trying to impress little sister with all her tricks (lil sister less than impressed). At least our toy room has a splash of color. 🙂

When designing our daughter’s nursery we wanted bright and fun!
We based the nursery colors off the owl print sheets and coordinated everything from there. The rocker was made by my great-grandpa, the cover for it by my mom and the crib skirt which you can barely see – by my grandma! Her nursery is perfect and something she can grow into as well!

I was taking a photograph of a game that was vibrant in color when I knocked all of the pieces out of the box. Instead of getting a broom, I grabbed my camera. The color mess provided me the inspiration I was looking for this week.
