M4H Project 52 Week 5 | Winner & Some Eye Candy

I am back a little late to feature some AMAZING photos from last week’s theme “Imperfection” and show off the winner (who I forgot to mention last week will be winning a $50.00 Gift card to my shop towards anything they like including mentorships which I don’t normally do! ) of this week’s challenge.

I am gonna get right into the meat and potatoes of this post. I apologize for being a bit belated. We are in the process of switching to a dedicated server and I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said I was totally WEB STUPID. Its way over my head and taking me forever. I am also way out of touch with the flickr group and plan to catch up and get reacquainted ASAP with your stunning photos! Can’t wait to hit the group and start commenting!

    First up our winner:

This week’s photo totally captivated and grabbed me. I guess as parents our concerns are always being the best possible parents we can be. It really is the hardest “job” in the world. When I saw this photo in the gallery and saw it was submitted by a FATHER it totally moved me that much more. It feels so good to know that us women out here share the same anxieties, the same worries as the men in our lives. You can see for yourself below:

Really wasn’t sure what I was going to do with this weeks theme as there was SO many ways I could take it given how imperfect things are or at least how I can perceive them to be.

Imperfection = me as a father. It is something I strive to be in every aspect for my son. Someone for him to look up to. Someone who is a role model. Someone who is an example of how a man should behave in all areas of life. I want my son to see a true man of integrity, honesty, courage, strength, wisdom, morals, respect, love, compassion, patience and I could go on. BUT no matter how hard I try, no matter how bad I want to be all of that every minute of each and every day for him…I will not be…I am simply i m p e r f e c t…..but I WILL STRIVE.

That is me in my son’s eye…All of these attributes I listed above is exactly what I want his eyes to see when looking at me.

So honest and AMAZING right?!! Here are some of my favs from this week!

My four hens week 4 - imperfection

This is imperfect in so many ways.
    1. The toys all over the floor.
    2. The toddler not playing with the toys when she is supposed to so her sisters can do their homeschool work.
    3. The chairs sporting raggedy old towels.
    4. My kids still in their pajamas…
Ahh the list could go on. This imperfect snapsot is pretty representative of our chaotic life.

    4/52 "Imperfection"

    Caption:
Imperfections: I am not the perfect mom nor the perfect wife. My house isn’t always perfectly clean, my cooking isn’t always perfectly tasty, and as this picture shows…I do not always take the best pictures. Although life isn’t always perfect I strive to do my best. My vision is far from perfect…and although I may view my life looking through rose colored glasses (quite literally now), what’s simply clear is that what matters most in life is how much I love my little family and cherish my “perfectly” imperfect life.

We bought our house almost 3 years ago now. Buying our first home was a lot more stressful than I ever thought it was going to be. We had to look at what we needed at that time – and what we thought we would need in the future.
The home we purchased had sat vacant for 2 years or so. And surprisingly – it was not in terrible condition. In fact it was in really good condition – with a few exceptions. I spent almost a month painting the house since almost every room was white. We tore out flooring that was lifting, put up mirrors in the bathroom that were missing – and a bunch of other little things.
Now having lived here – we have filled our house with love. The first year I think my husband and I both were looking for the next project to complete. Now we are able to sit back and just enjoy everything we have done and not worry so much if something is not fixed (that we are able to live with of course).
Our home isn’t perfect as you can see by the wall in the photo but it is filled with perfection because it is filled with love.

My grandmothers vase.. miss her so much. She would always say when I picked and brought her flowers – “oh that vase.. it has a chip in it” … I never minded and today I have the vase… and now its my favorite. The chip makes it perfect.. cherish your relationships with your grandparents…

    Project 52/Week 4 : Imperfections

As far as my subject is concerned…well there are no imperfections. She’s a little slice of perfect.

But this session made me realize something. It’s the imperfections–the non portrait moments, the stuff in between that I love catching with my camera the most. And that’s what I want to be. A photographer who specializes in the imperfect in between moments. How do I do that?

this may not look to be the perfect photo to some professionals, but it’s perfect to me.
my resolution this year was to accept the imperfections in all aspects of my life. a year ago i might of thought this to be a bad picture, but now i label it as perfect.

I dragged the kids to a nearby field because I am in the process of redoing a photo wall in my living room. I knew we would have some (who am I kidding?), many imperfect moments. Here they are just after discovering that the flowers I asked them to sit in were oozing with bees!

By the standards of some, this photo is not perfect. I mean, look at it..the bride and groom’s heads are cut off. Yet, it is not the hands I am focusing on here…It is the hands, the arms, the movement..the feeling. So to some this photo is “imperfection”, not a perfect image. To me it is imperfection at its best.

Life with children encourages you to embrace imperfection. Today I embraced mismatched outfits, pajama day and quiet moments surrounded by a room full of toys.

Phew that was hard. Amazing group you really are! Can’t wait to play catch up!! I have my photo I am adding to the pool for last week too tomorrow yay! Yes I promise I took it within the time frame. Told ya I am a slacker lol!
