Boston Here we Come | Personal Alert

My daughter recently turned nine years old. How that is possible.. well I am still grasping at straws here. I can say though that she is becoming more and more of a little lady by the day and I am so incredibly proud to be her mommy. Lily is a girly girl. She is so girly in fact her life gravitates around dolls and dresses. She has been into the American Girl doll line for some time and had been begging and begging to go to one of the stores. We live in Connecticut which means we could have easily gone to either New York or Boston. We chose Boston. We thought it would be easier to stay in a hotel and do the weekend thing. We actually took our own car and had my sweet cousin and her family joined us and made a trip out of it! We had a wonderful time!! My daughter Lily, my daughter Sophia (Who just turned 2 in late April) and my darling niece (well cousin but she calls me aunty because of the age difference) all stayed up with myself, my husband, my cousin J and her boyfriend G in a Hampton Inn right around the corner from the American Girl doll store! We spent the first day basically just shopping and relaxing. I missed the boys a lot who stayed with my mother in law but I knew that they would be bored out of their minds with all the girly girl plans we had made! I have to say I was a bit dissapointed the Hampton Inn didn’t have a pool for the kids. It was recommended by the American Girl Doll place and I just assumed so I admit it was partly my fault but if you decided to make the trip I wouldn’t recommend that hotel. There also wasn’t a restaurant meaning no room service so I was kind of bummed the girls didn’t get the full experience I wanted them to. It would have been great for them to be able to swim especially. Anyhow the mall there is quite gorgeous! American Girl doll is actually right outside of Boston in Natick. After we had a chance to unpack we took the kiddos to the mall practically across the street from our hotel. I was in awe of all the stores I WISH our mall had including Pottery Barn kids (thank GOD I didn’t have room in my car is all I am gonna say about that lol!) and Crew Cuts (which is what I had purchased online to dress the girls up for their big photoshoot the following day.Β  Here are a few photos of us in our hotel suite and of the mall experience!

Sophia checking herself out in the mirror lol! If there is a mirror this kid is in it lol!!

And already naked. Am I the only one with a two year old that will not keep her clothes on?! LOL We walked into the room and she stripped almost instantly!

This was inside the mall! They had a really cool fountain the kids of course were all drawn too! I thought Sophia was going to try to jump in lol!

Saydee and Sophia got to be super close! It was so funny seeing Saydee carrying Sophia around like a living doll! They were practically the same size LOL!

From there we decided to look for a restaurant as it was nearing dinner time! We found a cheesecake factory but on the way we noticed that the American Girl doll store was actually RIGHT in the mall next to it. Lily freaked LOL! She even asked if she could touch it… We let the girls run in really quick while we waited for our table.

Our table was ready so we headed in to eat where I took NO pictures lol! They sat us at this round table surrounded by booths and I had to keep my hands free to make sure Sophia didn’t fling something unsavory at someone trying to enjoy their meal nearby.. Yes it happened but only once LOL! From there we headed home and hung out. Thats honestly where that pool woulda came in handy lol! There was a HUGE walk in closet that the girls hid in and played with their dolls so Sophia didn’t invade them. I felt kinda bad for Sophie but I honestly got it having a sister ten years younger then me so Ididn’t press the issue. All was well until the girls discovered the safe and locked their nail polishes and other girly things inside lol!!

The next morning was the big day! We had a few hours before our reservation at American Girl Doll for dinner so we went out looking for a place to take photos. The girls looked SO pretty! We found a park I can not remember or pronounce lol!! It was actually a camp type ground with a lake and was really cute but being memorial day it was crowded! We didn’t get many photos unfortunately there. Lily actually pouted through most of them because she spotted an ice cream truck and I wouldn’t let her get any till we were done taking photos lol!

And this is pretty much where Lily went on strike lol!! So I took advantage and got some photos of Saydee and her beautiful family.

From there we headed to American Girl doll for our reservation and some shopping! The girls were in their glory!!

The dolls all had their own seats and they even brought out glasses for them with pink lemonade in them! SO Cute!

From there we headed to the car and looked around a bit for a place to finish taking photos. The navigation led us to a park that didn’t work out but I managed a couple quick pictures. There were WAY to many mosquitos though so we hustled!

We decided to brave it and head to downtown Boston to hit Boston Commons Park and the surrounding area. Oh my GORGEOUS! I seriously am in love!

Then it was time to head home. We ended up staying the night again and headed home in the morning!! I think the girls had an amazing time though I hope to make it back there to take more photos soon!! I really really truly can say I LOVE the city of Boston!!!

I do apologize for the over share!! Totally I hope you enjoyed a bit of our special weekend!!!

I don’t know if anyone has ever told you, but you are pretty good at this picture taking/ editing thing! πŸ˜‰ I love seeing your work and always find inspiration. Of course I loved the images, settings, styling, etc. But this time even your dolls were well dressed. I loved the doll with vest and no shirt. I’m totally seeing one of my kids with that look in the near future πŸ™‚
