It’s been raining a lot this week and my girl was sick, so when the rain let up and she got a bit of energy back we went out puddle jumping. The good thing about all this rain is the vibrant green of the trees and giant puddles for splashing in. I love the dreamy smile on her face, and the effect of my Lensbaby on the surrounding trees. And me, well I’m dreaming of sunny days.

My Father’s Day present from my wife was a weekend for two in Pescadero, CA on the coast. There were thousands of these cat tails by the shoreline and watching them wave back and forth in the wind was very dreamy. : )

We were California Dreaming in San Diego this past week. We had a wonderful vacation, full of sand and sea and Legos!

Week 52: Dreamy (This weeks theme is so so so fitting!)

Last July I had a newborn/family session with this beautiful family. At the session I learned that 11 year old Zach was in remission with brain cancer. Last fall they learned that Zach’s tumor was growing and the prognosis wasn’t good.

I wanted to photograph Zach with his family one last time, but we were too late. On January 18, 2014 God called his angel home. Not long after he passed, Zach came to me in a very vivid dream. He told me he would be at the session even if we couldn’t see him. He gave me a lot of ideas in the dream! This is one of Zach’s ideas. Tatum and Natatum Haines, I hope you like it. I spent an hour with tears in my eyes creating this for your wonderful family. Thank you so much for your guidance Zachary Haines! This is just the first in the little series you inspired me to make. More to come! May you fly with the angels little buddy.

Week 25 “Dreamy” – This was on Father’s Day. We had planned to just hang at the house and do some computer updating etc..really exciting stuff! But – last minute – we decided to ditch the computer plans and head up to Glacier Nat’l Park (about 45 min from our place) – we took the kiddos fishing – picnic – hiking – and even though it was chilly and rained I got some great moody skies to shoot! I love watching thunderstorms roll in. The color, the light, the sound…They are marvelous to watch, and there’s just something soothing and awe inducing about them.

It may be a stretch, but one of the definitions of dreamy is soothing and another is wonderful and marvelous. To me, this is that.
