It’s hard to believe my baby is almost nine months old. When I had my older two, I let sleepless nights get to me. I couldn’t wait for the next phase. I wasn’t as at ease as I am now. Maybe it’s age…maybe it’s because he’s my third…I’m not sure, but I’m much more sentimental with this one. I truly treasure each day and try to hold on to time as tightly as I can. Breastfeeding is one of those things that I am sad to see coming to an end. With my other two I made it five and six months. I wasn’t ready to end it, but my body was. So, I should feel a sense of victory that I have made it to this point. But, as much as I know that, I feel a bit defeated that my body once again is telling me this time will soon be coming to an end. This picture just evokes so much emotion in me…in all to short of a time this will just be a blur of a memory…so I’ll try a tad harder to soak it in and to feel joy and not defeat.

We moved into our home 6 years ago and had our first child just a few months later. Since then, our life has been one big blur of growing up much too fast for my liking. That blur is by and far the reason that this 365/52 project has been so very important to me – to stop time for just one second. I love looking back and remembering all these sweet moments, like their first time on a merry-go-round.

When I first heard of the theme of this week, I was sure I want to try freelensing… and I did it! I love everything about it. The creativity, mood, {blur} and feeling of motion. Beautiful!

He is going to be a “ball player.” He bats Left. Throws Right. Dodges balls, and doesn’t need a tee. He is 5. On the field… he thinks he is a superstar – nothing but a blur. And, he is cute – so we let him.

My daughter turned 5 in April just gone. I feel like those precious years have gone past in almost a blur. I’m desperately capturing all the memories I can, trying to contain that magic those first few years of childhood contain. Which brought me to this image. Not my usual style, but I “feel” that magic. I know in years to come I will treasure this for the story it holds, the magic that was.

    M4H Project Fifty-Two | Week 23 Blur

This week we played in a little, pretty patch of clover that which the sun was shining ever so lovely on–I had to take just one picture…or maybe thirty. 😉 Although, just about all of them came out perfectly crisp, I was sad to find out that one of my favorite pictures wasn’t focused on my little sister, and was slightly blurry (don’t get me wrong, I LOVE blurry, out of focus photos, but that wasn’t what I was wanting for this picture). But, then I remembered what this week’s Project 52 theme was blurry, so I thought that this picture would work perfectly. 🙂 And I now love this photo, and I think now that the blurriness gives it emotion (do you think?). 🙂

Every year when these gorgeous blooms grace our gardens with their beautiful textures and tones, I always grab the camera for a play.

And every year when I download them off the camera for a closer look; it’s always the blurred, imperfect captures that catch my eye. Seems that perfect is not always pretty

I love living in a small town called Senoia (some of you may know it as Woodbury from the tv series The Walking Dead)! It is full of great antique stores and every time we walk through town, my daughter runs straight to the giraffes…everything else is a blur!

This week I turned 36! I’ve never much concerned myself with age. Getting older just never really bothered me. But this year…oh me oh my! It was tough coming to terms with it. I was a bit of a wreck looking back at the past 15 years. I’m no longer a young woman, but approaching middle age! How did that happen?! Life really does just whiz on by when you’re not paying attention, doesn’t it? This birthday in particular brought with it a reminder to be present…always. I will sit in my garden and enjoy the sunset through a flower. I will not wish away the moments of my life, no matter how challenging. I will push myself to try new things. I will love like crazy. I will live like crazy. And hopefully my camera and me will capture a few beautiful moments along the way.

I just received my first DSLR camera. I’m determined to shoot only in Manual mode. This is one of the first photos I have taken with the camera and it isn’t tack sharp but it is moody and there is something about it that i love. Maybe its just because I know it is taken on a camera with so many possibilities. Facebook is making her eye not as sharp either (in photoshop it looks so detailed and in focus)

This week marked the end of the school year for us. This year has been such a extreme blur it is unreal that it is over. And my little girl is a second grader now.. reading chapter books, writing short papers.. + I missed more of her life this year than I ever have because of my husbands illness. When I pulled this image off I was dumb struck and teary eyed. This profile is of an older girl. Not my baby. Whew. Just writing this left my eyes blurred with tears!
