My Backyard
Ok, so it’s not exactly our backyard, but it is the yard. My mom had a yard sale at our house and they decided it would be a good idea to set up their chairs and wave at cars. Then they started yelling “Stop and buy my Grandma’s stuff!”

I’ve been searching for a location close to us like this for awhile now… I’m pretty sure we’ve just found our new “backyard” to play in! So many areas to explore now!

This afternoon my daughter wanted to play super hero and put together this costume – I was able to get a quick picture of her looking fierce! PS: she does not want me to reveal her real name, just call her “Water Girl!”

Week 21 Backyard
In our garden we are attempting to grow strawberries again this year. Last year we had some lovely ones only for them to be eaten by birds. The kids were so disappointed.
I love how the leaves on our strawberry plant holds water in the mornings I just had to sneak out there and take a few shots

This week our backyard was Centre Parcs in the Lake District. My nephew turned 10 which is a pretty big deal as he was born at 28 weeks and life has thrown a whole stack of struggles at him. He loves Penrith though and had a great birthday. It was awesome to be surrounded by nature. Especially Robins they’re my favourite!

This has been my other backyard for the past 5 years. My full time job has an awesome view of the weather that comes through. This shot of lightning will be my last weather shot from this backyard due to the fact they decided to close that location down and I’ve been transferred to an optical inside a mall. It was very bittersweet to take a break from packing up the place to get one last storm shot. I will miss this place : (

I decided to take advantage of this theme and break out my macro lens a little bit each day and then pick a favorite at the end of the week! It even inspired me to do a 30 day macro project.
I chose this photo because it has a bit of a funny story. I by no means have a green thumb, but every now and then I’ll get a “wild hair” and take on something I know nothing about. A few years back I decided I wanted to try my hand at growing plants from seeds. I went out and got all of the stuff and bought a few different packets of seeds. I started to grow them in mini green houses and then transferred them to my yard. The flower pictured is a cosmo. Not my favorite flower to be in a bed because they are a bit wild looking. They grow tall and messy, “weed-like” actually. Anyhow, now they’re everywhere. They pop up in the weirdest of places in my yard and every time I see them I’m reminded of my “green thumb” days and wonder what I’ll get into next :).

21/52 Backyard
This theme was hard for me this week, on several levels. We literally don’t have a backyard, a front one…but not a back one! And to be quite honest, our yard is ugly. It is strewn with a dirty big trampoline, with its netting disintegrating, a DIY shed that houses a myriad of bikes, surf boards, junk and other ‘essential’ items just TOO important to throw away, a kayak, a vege garden, soccer balls and a dilapidated and never used cubby house. Certainly not a yard that would feature in a lifestyle magazine. Sigh, one day we will have a yard that looks picture perfect…. in the mean time I’ve added a bit of sun flare to try and distract you all from the overgrown lawn – which I swear my husband mowed this afternoon!

Yesterday I shot my first wedding and it was awesome! I’m very grateful that my friends risked and let me shot their special day. In this beautifully decorated {backyard} we celebrated and enjoyed the evening after the ceremony.

My backyard (21/52)
It astounds me that in this relatively small plot of land, these children discover wonder after wonder: an overturned rock with rolly polly bugs, a new sprout peeking its head through the dirt, and the sprinkles of hose water nourishing growth. Their excitement returns me to awe and thankfulness for this beauty-filled earth God created and blessed us with a tiny piece.

This is probably my favorite theme yet, since a majority of my pictures are taken in our yard. I like to think some of her best memories are being made here.

21/54 “My Backyard” Okay so this isn’t right outside my back door but it practically is. I live in the most beautiful part of the world (IMO) and am so blessed to live so close to the Canadian/USA border. I have the mountains, Ocean, Lakes and vast hiking trails at my disposal. I look at this and imagine going some place fantastic.. and I don’t even have to go far to get there… it’s all in my backyard!!

Week 21 – My Backyard.
My backyard isn’t that appealing as far as landscape goes. It is open fields behind the yard itself, and the yard is just mostly limestone gravel to allow the farm machinery to get around and in and out of the barns. But, my daughter sure thinks the big tractors are something special! Here she is riding the toy tractor that was my husband’s when he was a child.

You don’t have to take a trip around the world or be on a beach in the Bahamas to find happiness and relaxation. You can find it in the little things, like having your own private pool right in your backyard.

I also wanted to share this one in addition to my other, this is also literally my backyard. I became a backyard bee keeper 3 weeks ago and I am having the best time with it. As a working mother, wife, do-er of lots, I really needed to do something for myself and this happened to be it It’s a self-portrait of sorts, I plopped the camera on the edge of a rock and had it continuously shoot while I went back over to work the hive.

My Backyard | Lisa R. Howeler, Lifestyle Photographer. Actually this is my parent’s backyard at their pond, but growing up it was my also part of my backyard because it was my grandmother’s and across the woods and field from our house. Now it is my son’s weekend backyard, where grandpa takes him fishing and hiking and all of the things he did with me when I was growing up.

We are so happy to have this fab space as our backyard…the boys have endless hours of fun out in the garden, on the trampoline and just generally exploring. On this particular afternoon this week we had a picnic in the wigwam with the toys and then this….lots of giggles coming from both of them! Lovely!

21:52 My Backyard
Today this was my backyard. I was driving with my niece from her home in Windsor, CO, to my home in Abq, NM. It’s a drive I make often, and I always love. Every single time I make this drive I am itching to jump out of the car and take some shots about every few miles, but I never have. Today we had so many obstacles making our drive longer than usual. I mentioned how I loved the scenery, and my niece encouraged me to pull over. We took a moment to get some shots, and it was so peaceful and beautiful. Almost immediately when we got back in the car we hit a storm that was crazy. I was hydroplaning and couldn’t see in front of me. Thankfully we made it through. Several other events made the drive one of the most significant ones I’ve made, and I’m so glad that I finally took the moment to document a small part of it.
