The light was radiantly shining out of the window while Shoshanna was happily eating a slice of a lemon (what’s wrong with that girl? lol). I rented a 35mm 1.4L lens this weekend and just fell in love with it. I must buy myself one…soon(ish). 🙂

When I heard the theme was radiate, I thought of the warmth from the sun, light streaming in a window, a huge smile on a child’s face. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been all that sunny here and my daughter was too sick this week to smile much.
This morning I woke up to spring frost on the trees. I love the way it radiates off of the branches in all directions. It is not what I had in mind for this week’s photo, but I kind of like it.
Now, I’d like it even more if we’d stop getting frost and start getting some of that sunshine

In a week where I feel a bit worn down by more work shooting than personal shooting, this one radiates with me even though it is not full of sunshine and backlighting, something more my normal style of shooting. In the moments a mama was breast feeding her baby, I was left alone with her gorgeous nursery, which was light and airy and instantly, I went for something dramatic and dark to push myself deeper for the details instead of just the same old thing. I am so in love with this shot! Hamilton Creek Photography
