M4H P52 “Muted” Eye Candy
So excited to hop right in for our Muted theme this week! I took a peek in the flickr gallery this week, and was blown away. As always I have no idea how I am going to choose so I am going to take it one image at a time. You all rock! Also, whoa! Our flickr pool looks a bit different! I need to add a cover photo, and since you are all such a HUGE part of the group I thought it would be fun to use some of the group images every week. (We can cycle out.) Totally up to you all though. I was even thinking we would use it as a way to feature the winner, so long as it fits correctly lol!
As always the winner should please email me to claim their prize (A $40.00 Gift Card towards any editing resources of their liking!)
Winner: I love this. The mood, and the essence of the image just really speak to me. Gorgeous work!

My first camera and one of my first pictures. The picture has faded over time leaving a muted look that is appealing to me even after all these years.

9 days until school starts…2 Summer Reads for AP Lit…not a single page read in either one…and so the procrastination begins before school even starts…*sigh*
I thought this was good for the muted theme…it’s so my son, who is 16…muted is to “reduce the intensity of”. He’s laid back (almost too much, aka the Summer Reading!), it’s who he is and how he goes about everything…and I love him for it.

These days both of the boys have a lot to say and lots of questions to ask. They would love nothing more than to have a mute button for the other. If only I had a dollar for every time I hear “I was talking first” 🙂 But I want nothing more than them to know they can always come to me with any question, concern or to just chat with their momma <3

Battleship Texas radio control room. Muted since 1948 after serving in both WWI & WWII. My family & I got to tour this piece of history while on vacation this week. It was fun to take pictures of & imagine living on board.

When I thought about the theme Muted, black and white came to mind first or a picture of one of the boys staring at something in silence; but I took this image the other evening and I keep coming back to it when I think of Muted. When I see this image, I am muted or speechless. This is a memory that was captured that we will have forever. It is a funny memory and so precious. The fact that Brandon had to take the goats out in the field to show them what a weed is, lol. I think they have been grain fed. The pure innocense of the boys running after the goats in the tall grass just makes me smile and I am so blessed to have healthy, beautiful boys and a quiet, peaceful, beautiful place for them to run and play.

I am so far from home, and although I can text, skype, whatsapp and facebook my family, nothing felt more intimate and bittersweet than receiving a simple handwritten letter from them on my birthday.
The words were silent, muted by the distance, but they spoke loudly to my heart … this wonderful gesture made my day and I cherish the fact that I can hold it in my hands and read it whenever I want.

I try to speak mostly positive words to others, but it is sometimes more difficult to mute my inner critic.

Caught him in a quiet moment in-between barks & howls while waiting to go for a walk. We sure do love this silly pup!

Photo taken last night at our local park while we were enjoying some big band music. I loved how the sun was dipping into the trees, and the kids were happy to pose for me. I’m just tickled with how the photo turned out. All the stars aligned for me on this one!

Such a beautiful golden sunset! I muted the colors a bit to tone down how bright it was : )

My daughter received some sunflower seeds at a birthday party to plant, this beauty is the result. The SOOC was vibrant and gorgeous but this ‘muted’ version is just as pretty in my opinion.

Peace is walking in a quiet coastal town listening to the muted sound of ocean waves crashing on the Northern California coast. Breathing in the cool summer air and taking it all in.

Went out boating with my Dad, Brother, two of my kids and my nephew last night. It was a chilly evening, but the kids were dying to get on the boat all week so we went out anyway. The kids had fun tubing and then my nephew decided he would try to ski. I was so proud when he got up on his very first try and I was so glad to be there to capture the moment on my camera. Way to go Dawson.
This week’s theme was “muted” and I thought the colours in this image were exactly that – muted.
I hope you’re all having a fabulous summer….I know I am!
