M4H P52 Black and White Winner and Eye Candy
What a crazy morning. I went to log in and get this up… and my website wouldn’t load. Yikes. I am not web savvy so when something isn’t working I admit I have a mini freak out moment lol! I got the most amazing help from Brian over at Host Gator though so I am hoping that is the end of our troubles and we can glide right on from here!
I am really excited to get into our Eye Candy this week for our winner of the “Black and White” Theme. Those that do follow my work have probably noticed how absolutely obsessive I am when it comes to black and white imagery. There is something so special and poignant about it.I also know many sites that feature other photographers tend to limit the blog features to just a few images. I tend to feature loads and loads. I honestly have to say when looking for images to feature I am always drawn in on how these particular images make me feel. I feel pulled right in. Some make me happy, some make me curious, others pack a punch. It doesn’t even necessarily have to be the image itself but the story behind it. I do read your captions and love to get to know you all through your shares. Either way you all are amazing. Thank you for being here.
I also posted yesterday information on how you can jump in to our Project 52 (the more the merrier) in the weekly theme post so if you are interested in getting involved you can absolutely hop in.
The winner of this contest will grab a $40.00 Gift Card to my shop towards any editing goodies. Be sure to email me or use the blog contact form to claim your prize. 🙂
Winner: (We have two again lol!) I know it really is so hard to choose ONE winner. I wish I could pick you all!

It’s been so beautiful here and the ice-cream truck keeps coming through the neighborhood. My daughter started her “Ice-Cream Fund” jar and it sits right next to the front door for easy access! (I used Drama Mama photo action by M4H photography

Experimenting for the first time with an artificial light source. This was so much fun…I really loved the headlight photos, but this one was the most striking to me. The street light was casting a particularly brighter spot right where I placed my daughter.

M4H 20/52 Black & White (Little Country Church)
Black and white photography always has a huge impact on me. There is so much emotion, raw beauty and depth captured within the many shades of gray. When I first started in photography, I learned how to take photos using black and white film with a manual SLR. To this day, I still love the look of black and white.
This lovely church was on my way back from playing in the tulip fields. I have always loved little country churches. Especially ones out in the middle of nowhere.

I recently did a little photoshoot with my DS1 Jack, out of a bunch of pictures this one really stood out to me. He’s growing up to be such a beautiful and special young man, and even though he’s 18 on Sunday I still see my baby boy in there. Edited with Pony Up!

As their babies grow, they become more and more protective over their spot in the yard. They have now taken to dive bombing the dogs.

my sweet little boy. anyone who said it was the ‘terrible twos’ or the “terrifying threes” knows nothing about the “fearsome fours”
My little boy’s moody little tantrums are quite a show. But we have a birthday coming up. The big 5. How will five change him I wonder. Probably take away the moods but the “little” as well. Then he will be a boy, a big boy instead. 🙁

I saw this on the wall at the Nike store and I just loved it! I used to run a lot and just haven’t found the time since my little man was born 9 months ago. When I see things like this, or people running I get inspired to start up again. Hopefully I will find the motivation soon.. maybe signing up for a race will be the key : )

Thunderstorm season has started here on the prairie. We might not have many trees, but we make up for it with an abundance of sky.

Week 20/53 – Black & white.
Eternally grateful for a few things here … firstly, the rainy afternoon that forced me to find the rapidly fading light …. INDOORS, secondly a high ISO … 🙂 thirdly … and this is SO important to me – that if I like to shoot with the aperture wide open … why did I let someone convince me that there was a happy medium somewhere in between? … and finally … for Sarah’s M4H actions!!
Love these! Love that street light image, Suzie!
That church photo with all its clouds in the background is especially striking.
