M4H Project 52 Eye Candy | Week One Time
Our very first Eye candy post of 2013! Exciting! I have to say it is almost impossible to pick and choose. It really is. So many beautiful and heartfelt submissions. I will also say last year one of the highlights of my week was to dig into the flickr pool and really get acquainted with everyone. The Winner of this week will win a $40.00 Gift Card to my shop so please contact me via the Contact Form on my blog and I will send you your very own code to go shopping!!
Since there are some new wonderful faces I am going to reiterate really quick just how this works. Every Sunday a new theme is published here on the blog. On Monday I go through the flickr group and search for a handful of images to feature and choose a winner (which is REALLY hard to do lol!) and post them here to show you all off!! To be considered for eye candy the image must be added to the Flickr pool at http://www.flickr.com/groups/m4h. You also need to have taken the photo that week to be considered a winner though I don’t mind an older image for the Eye Candy itself. The purpose of this group though is to have a new image for every week so when we hit the very end of the year you have a Photo for every week of the past year. It is totally okay though if you need a break. I think the most important thing is to take the pressure off! There is also not a set number of images I choose to feature. I try to be versatile and pick lots of different styles and types of images. You do NOT need to be a professional and I read the captions as well as the images so I go by that too when making my decisions! 🙂

This is my house. 12-13 years ago, it was under construction, and you can see a 9 year old me standing next to all the mess, dressed up as a doctor for my carnival party at school. I can’t believe how much everything has changed.

“Time is a created thing. To say ‘I don’t have time,’ is like saying, ‘I don’t want to.” – Lao Tzu
I want to have time to do all the things that I like. I will create time for this.

Growing up we always went bowling on new years day, so it was super fun to take my two littles today. My four year old was having such a good time that she had a little trouble waiting between her turns.

I hate the time change. Absolutely hate it. I hate how it means less time with my son, but also less time to photograph. When school is done there is only an hour before the good light is gone. there is only an hour before we’re confined in the house in the cold and the dark. I wait anxiously for spring and for longer days and more sunlight. The photographer in me waits, as does the person who tends to be melancholy when there isn’t enough sun for an extended amount of time.

This is definitely a timeless photo of my little Calvin. The first year of life always flys by so fast…wish he could stay this little forever.

Project 52 – Time
Time…..quality time. My hope is to fill 2013 with more quality time with my kiddos, my husband and my friends. This image was taken while spending time with my daughter this week. After days of rain, the sun made an appearance so we rushed off for an adventure. We stumbled onto a new trail and found ourselves on the beach. As time passes this coming year, I’m excited to have Project 52 to root me in the present moment, to challenge me, and I can’t wait to look back on each precious memory. Happy New Year! 🙂

And he’s 5
Just like that, time flies. I cannot believe my first baby is five…a whole hand, as he says. Where in the world does time go?! Try as I might, I ask, beg even, Mr. Time to slow down, but he does not honor my request.
M4H: Time
Jackson informed me while holding up his little hand that he had “three girlfriends” and I “needed to hurry up”. I said, “Three?! That’s it?!” Then he said, “Well, it’s more like ten one hundred thousand, but I can only remember the names of 3 of them.”
That’s my boy 😉

P52/1- This week we are going back in time…this is the Brownie or “Brownie Box” a simple and inexpensive camera introduced by Eastman Kodak in 1946. The first Brownie was introduced in 1900 and sold for $1. The Brownie was designed to be a camera anyone could use and afford, and is credited for introducing the concept of the “snapshot”.

Week 1/52 – Time
Ah, what time can do. On the left is an image from about a year ago and on the right is one from today! Not only am I showing how big this little girl is growing (too fast!!!) but how far I have come on my journey as a photographer. I just launched my photography business a couple months ago and seeing this side by side comparison really shows me how far I’ve come and that I should be proud. <3

Christmas is over. A new year has begun. Time is passing, my kids are growing. Sometimes I worry that I’m missing it.
This little tree was grown solely for our enjoyment. If the rings in the trunk are truly an indication of age then it was only five years old. Five whole years of growing for a month of prominence. So much time for so little payoff it seems. And yet it did bring so much joy.

P52 | TIME
I thought this was appropriate for the start of the new year, I loved this theme! I thought hard about this one. The “dead” confetti symbolizes how quickly our “time” goes. My sweet little Lu had so much fun throwing confetti to ring in the new year, however it was short lived as the confetti fell to the ground. This year my only resolution is to value my time more, rather than engulfing myself in my work I want to appreciate my baby being a baby.

I am becoming all to aware of time lately. Today was my dads birthday…he turned 89. Our time together these days is filled with mostly sitting quietly and holding hands. I’m thankful for this time…I know how very precious it is. xoxo

My oldest does not like having his picture taken, so I was surprised that he was willing to have his photo taken. It was his idea to start dribbling, just as he did 7 1/2 years ago!
Caption:
{Surf} Time
We started our new year off with a day trip to the beach for some sun, sand and surf.
Isn’t time a funny thing?
I can’t wait for the day my little boy is old enough to take his own board into the surf and paddle around with me.
Funny how sometimes we wish our time away without even realising?
For now, I think I’ll go back on those words and just cherish his little toddler days before they are over.
Our time in the surf together will come soon enough.

I love the start of a new year. A time for new goals, new beginnings, and a fresh start. Looking forward to all that 2013 has to offer!
I got a tripod for Christmas, so I thought I would try something different for the first week. In case you need interpretation as my husband did, it says 2013 with a clock underneath!

WOW! what lovely photos! I just joined the blog last week, thinking about participating, may have to reconsider participating here also, the inspiration is phenomenal!
Thank you so much Sara for choosing my image this week! I felt sooooo guilty not completing it last year! I got completely overwhelmed with life… and this year… I choose to NOT allow my “time” to be overwhelmed! It was the encouragement that I needed! :0)
