M4H P52 Time Eye Candy
It’s that time again! The weeks just seem to be flying which totally seems to support last weeks theme! This year has been a crazy one between all the traveling, our oldest reaching double digits and our youngest officially being out of the baby stage. Sometimes i totally feel like I am on a roller coaster but so is life right?!
Let’s get right to some favs from last week!! As always you all so didn’t make this easy on me. I have to say this was one of my favorite weeks yet from all of you!

27 years ago i wore this dress to my Cousin’s wedding as the flower girl. It has traveled with me to every house, and every apartment i’ve ever lived in. I took it out today for my Neice to try on. Needless to say it fit her perfect

when i saw this weeks theme this song immediately came to mind and so did this shot (well minus the baby she was just an added bonus 😉 Time really does just slip into the future ….in the blink of an eye my once little girl is a teenager and will be going into HS this fall YIKES!! another year, another milestone, sometimes i wish we could just stop time(sigh)… she has grown up so quickly i just cant get over it….she is an awesome kid and is always making us so proud. i couldnt ask for any more than she already gives, i know she will do her best in HS as she does everything else….
on a side note i also thought this song fitting because right now Steve Miller Band is one of her favorites… shes always listening to that along with RHCP and Nirvana 🙂

Week-28-of-52—Time
In Pregnancy, we spend our time waiting and waiting to meet our new precious gift. It seems to last an eternity, we will the time to hurry up. But then, in no time at all, our baby is grown, and all we can say is ‘TIME…SLOW DOWN’

52 Weeks *Week 28*: The right “time” of day and a feeling of warmth
Sometimes it is just the right time of day to catch the sun in an amazing way. What luck that I was there. This photo gives me a feeling of warmth …not only because the sun was warm that day.

Week 28 – Time
I would love to be able to go back in time and meet all of my family. They must have so many interesting stories to tell.
These are some of my favourite photos from my family history. I think that my great grandmother was especially beautiful 🙂

This locket was my grandmother’s when she was a little girl. We think it must be about 90 years old. I’m so glad it has stood the test of time and is still around to grace the necks of my own daughters.

Week 28 Time
This is my precious nephew, Ricky. He turned 5 on Saturday. I actually saw the new theme via my phone on my way to his birthday party. I knew exactly what project I had to do. It is amazing what difference 5 little years can make. He had a very scary start. He was born at 28 weeks and 3 days gestation by a C-section. He and his mom were both almost lost due to internal bleeding. He only weighed 3 pounds 4 ounces and spent over a month in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Now, five years later, he is the happiest little guy you could ever meet! Every time I see him he literally comes running to me with a big hug. I have never seen him angry. He is a bit behind in some areas. He just recently began to take off with his talking, the speech is still behind but now he can communicate with us and you can see it in his face that he is proud when we can understand what he has wanted to tell us for years. 5 years, is such a short time, but an amazing difference.

Week 28 ~ Timeless Treasure
The My Four Hens Project 52 theme this week is time. This is a special story and a special time-piece. This pocket watch belonged to my great grandfather who was born in Scotland. He passed it down to my Pappy (my mother’s father) who wanted me to have it upon his death when I was in my late teens. My Pappy never had any sons nor did my mom so the Fraser name is ending with my mom and aunt. When I read the theme this week, I pulled the pocket watch out of its box in my treasure drawer and shared it with Dominic. When I die, he will inherit this special family heirloom. I told him all about my Pappy who served in WWII as a medic. I also told him the story about when I received the watch.
My mom had returned from Ohio after Pappy died and told me that he wanted me to have his pocket watch. She shared that she remembered getting to play with it when she was a child but not for very long since it was so special. I held it in my hands, turning it over, running my fingers over the engraving on the outside. I opened it and thought of all the places it had been opened and the time it had marked. Mom said that it hadn’t worked in years. I closed it, clutched it in my hands tightly, and whispered, “I’ll take good care of it, Pappy.” When I sat it down on my coffee table a short while later, it started ticking. I’m not kidding, even my mom noticed. I felt a chill, I felt his presence. He was there at that moment.
Several hours later, the pocket watch stopped ticking. I told my mom that it had stopped and she asked the time… and the time was the same as when Pappy had passed away. It was very spiritual and surreal.
Dominic was in awe as I told this story, realizing that he will inherit this timeless treasure. Here he is holding Pappy’s pocket watch. I still miss him. I wish he could’ve met his great-granchildren.

Time [2]
As I was kneeling in the rhubarb patch this hazy Saturday morning at our local CSA the farmer, coffee mug in hand, strolled by and pointed out, “this (3 foot tall green healthy plant) is a weed. I’ve been watching it from my window with wonder.” Caused me to ponder the farmer’s life: one of continual cycles of life, growth, struggle, fruit, death – perhaps what their days are measured in. When I returned home I almost didn’t want to wash my hands. I wanted to embrace the goodness of God’s great earth under my fingernails and covering my boot’s steps. A reminder of the blessing of time, not measured in minutes but in life.

Project 52: Week 28 {Time}
Almost every week when the theme is released, I get some song stuck in my head for the entire week. My entries never have anything to do with the song. This week a song instantly came to mind and so did an idea. Probably only half of you even know who he is……but I’m going all Jim Croce on you this week with “Time in a Bottle”. I’m releasing the song from my head to yours.
Time is something that boggles my mind. Since my child was born, it has become real easy to mark off where each year has gone. He is growing way too fast for my liking and if I could save time in a bottle, I would!

M4H project 52 ~ week 28 (time)
Time, I wish that I could freeze it. I suppose that is what we do as photographers. We freeze time. we freeze those moments of sweetness, sadness, laughter, joy, pain. All of it. I want to cherish every moment of my children’s childhood since I can’t freeze actual time and keep them little. I never want to forget a thing.
