M4H P52 Week 16 Perspective Winner and Favs

Happy Monday Everyone!! I know I said this wouldn’t be up till next week but I had a free sec to post and wanted to get this up for everyone.  We are leaving for Connecticut tomorrow so I will be unavailable as mentioned in the last post but I figured it would help keep confusion at bay with a posting two winners etc next week since that post would most likely be overwhelming.  We lost a family member and my heads a bit fuzzy with everything that has been going on around here so I apologize for keeping this so brief.

These boxes stacked in my son’s room are many things…a tower to climb, a fun place to hide from his sister or just some interesting things added to the landscape of his room. From his perspective these boxes are a fun addition.
In reality, these boxes represent a 2 week supply of peritoneal dialysis solution for my husband. The contents of these boxes keep my husband here and from my perspective, that is a pretty good thing.

    Perspective

I had the hardest time this week coming up with a photo for the topic perspective. I had many ideas, the following being one of them, but I just wasn’t feeling it. Call it what you want, but I think it may possibly just be a dry spell, so I went ahead and decided to post it anyway. This is my little man “flying” his first kite! It was a fun idea to pursue, and I sure hope this phase passes soon. I enjoy enjoying my pictures! 😉

    M4H – Week 16 Perspective

I have always wanted to be a mother. We tried for 5 long years to become parents. I went thru everything that is available to make my dream of being a mother come true. When I say that there is nothing that I did not try, I am not in the least exaggerating. Not a day went by when I wasn’t praying, begging, bartering or pleading with the powers that be to have mercy on my heart and soul, to please make my dream become a reality. When I finally became pregnant, it was surreal; it was like it wasn’t happening to me. When my daughter was born, I was made whole. Fast forward 2 ½ years and still not a day goes by that I don’t hit the ground on my knees and thank God for her. When I’m having a rough day with her or when 225 isn’t enough times to ask for candy or when whining is the only language she speaks, I stop. I stop and I remember those days without my angel and how badly I wanted her to become a reality. It gives me a new perspective.

Ahhh. I completely fell off the bandwagon and missed soo many weeks of my P52!! But I am determined to keep going 🙂 This is from a little session last night and there is just something about the tiger ears I love!! After being ridiculously busy & pulled in all different directions lately something about these ears & and these shots makes me want nothing more than to see life from a child’s perspective again!

My youngest loves to help me with the laundry. He enjoys getting the clothes out of the dryer the most. This is what I see of my little helper from my perspective. His enjoyment of laundry has definitely also changed my perspective about laundry itself. It is no longer just another chore to do around the house, it is an activity that I do with my son that we can enjoy 🙂

This photo happened by pure accident.

I’d been trying to think of a photo for perspective the whole week but nothing was jumping out at me.

Then today while sorting through photos I’d taken for a new foodie post, I showed this shot to my hubby and straight away he said, “There’s your perspective photo.”

What is it? A disposable piping bag fitted with a star tip, but it definitely plays a trick on the mind. Looking into the empty piping bag to the tip? Or looking at the tip from the outside, piping bag trailing behind it?

If you study it long enough I’m sure you’ll figure it out, but I do love the trick it plays on the eyes!

My Four Hens 52 Weeks – Perspective

This morning my husband’s grandfather passed away. This photo was taken earlier in the week as my sister-in-law and I were caring for a man who came to mean so much to me over the last 10-12 years This photo is not only about a different perspective from a photography stand point.. Helping grandpa in his final weeks, his final days, his final hours gave me a new perspective on a lot of things. It gave me a new perspective on him, his daughter, his family, and on me. It gave me a new perspective on life and on all I’ve been worrying about for months and how mundane and unimportant so many of those things are. I will be forever grateful for the gift of this man, for the gift he gave me through his life and through his passing. Perspective. Sometimes it’s great to get a new one.

Although I’ve struggled with every theme so far, as soon as I saw this theme I knew what my photo would be. . . .

My big kids (triplets) were born at 30 weeks. Although they were all small, Rosemary was by far the smallest at 1 pound 14 ounces. When she was 3 weeks old, we slid my husband’s wedding band onto her wrist and took a few pictures, just to give some perspective as to how small she really was.

Rosemary is now almost 4. This past Tuesday morning I gave her a copy of the photo of her at 3 weeks old and my husband’s wedding band, and took some photos of her. This has been such an unbelievably emotional process for me. I was barely able to decide which photo to use, but in the end decided on this one. M4H Week 16 ~ Perspective

I have had a hard time this week coming up with something to photograph. It has been cold, wet, and damp here in Belgium all week and the forecast for this coming week is more of the same. As I sat in my van yesterday waiting for the downpour to slow down for me to get out, I thought to myself, this has been my whole perspective all week. I have been down, out of focus, and grey. I think the lack of sunshine is getting to me along with the cold. I hope that the sun and warmth decide to show up soon and that my perspective will change too!!!

    Project 52 Week 16 {perspective}

For the past several weeks, we have watched a pair of red finches build this nest in a tree next to our front door. This was fascinating to my kids to really see the momma bird build this nest in great anticipation of the littles that would eventually fill it. We talked at length about how hard she was working and to what great lengths she went to to line the nest with soft downy feathers and build a strong nest for her family.

Fast forward to this week and we had very strong wind and storms. When we pulled in the drive we saw the nest laying in the grass, with the newly hatched babies nearby. They didn’t survive the fall.

I immediately thought about that momma finch. Immediately looked at this nest from her perspective. The nest and home she had so carefully prepared for her babies was thrown to the wind, scattering and shattering the little lives that she so meticulously prepared for. I was heartbroken for her. I suppose this is what we do as mother’s though – we immediately put ourselves in the position of the hurting mother and our heart breaks for her.

    One Beautiful Soul Commented

    1. Lisa Howeler says:

Thank you for the mention. I am so sorry for your loss. As I wrote in my caption, my husband’s grandfather (his father figure) died on Sunday. We are going through a whirlwind of emotions and things that have to be done and the funeral and….so..I totally get where you are coming from. I pray you can all find some comfort and can get done what needs to get done. Don’t forget to rest at least a little, drink some fluids and eat at least a little to keep up your energy. This is what I’m reminding my family!
