Big tough guy gets a scratch and the pouty lip comes out. Good thing we have Elmo band-aids.

Yes it was ‘wild’. My first attempt at a fashion shoot for a friend. Arghhh!!! It was ‘wildly’ daunting, and stressful. I learnt a lot.

My oldest is growing up so fast. As we were walking to take pictures, he said “I hope no one sees us.” I realized that I may not be able to take these types of photos of him much longer, which makes these so much more special. He did have a great time being his superhero when we were there, so I may have my baby a little while longer 🙂

Fall colors have finally arrived.
I have missed two things… cooler temps and Fence Friday. Cooler temps are not technically here, unless 90 degrees is “cool” to you, but I was able to photograph this lovely fence.Sometimes the simplest things that we see every day are the most beautiful.
Happy Fence Friday!

”Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever. . . it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything” – Aaron Sussman

Week 39 ~ Tiny Toad
The My Four Hens Project 52 theme this week is wild card, which means we could photograph anything we want! We had some rain last night lasting throughout today. When I took Charlie out for his last pee last night, he found something in the garage and kept trying to paw it. I rescued this teeny, tiny toad. I put him in the habitat last night so Anna could see him this morning… she adores toads and frogs. This little guy is sitting on the side of a small bowl, about 2×2″. He’s probably no bigger than a dime in diameter, that’s how small he is! What a cutie!

Today my husband completed his 2nd Sprint Triathlon. It’s truly awesome and inspiring to witness such display of strength, perseverance, and diligence. And to witness the joy with which he competes fills me with pride and admiration. I love this man and how this race exemplifies his character.

Wild describes my life right now! I’ve been gone for a few weeks…starting school, teaching a new grade, unpacking a house…it’s a little more overwhelming than I thought. So, today my hubs took us for a drive to help us all unwind. I love driving in the mountains in Wyoming and it was just the ticket to help me relax. Now, on to another exciting week!

P52/Week 39 – Wild Card. I love the west coast, but there are things I miss about the north east, like a proper Vermont maple leaf, crimson red.

This week we could pick any photo we wanted. I chose this one of my baby turned tot. Her hair is getting so long and wispy. Love the how the light captures all the detail.

My life has been insanely busy the past couple months and I haven’t had a moment to myself or to contribute to my project 52 album… today, I decided to literally “Stop and smell the roses”… and pulled out my camera in the process! Thankful today for the little things and that I still have the opportunities in life to enjoy them!

{Wildcard} Old North Church in Boston
I shot this image inside the Old North church in Boston which is the location from which the famous “One if by land, and two if by sea” signal is said to have been sent.
The window light was stunning as it poured over the pew.
President Gerald Ford visited Old North Church on April 18, 1975. In his nationally televised speech, the President said, in part,
“Let us pray here in the Old North Church tonight that those who follow 100 years or 200 years from now may look back at us and say: We were a society which combined reason with liberty and hope with freedom. May it be said above all: We kept the faith, freedom flourished, liberty lived. These are the abiding principles of our past and the greatest promise of our future.”
Shot on 35mm b&w Ilford film on my old Canon rebel. It was my very first SLR camera that I got for my 17th birthday. That was 14 years ago! Whoa;)

Finally some relief from the heat! It’s a rainy weekend but a nice once. It sure beats summer temperatures but I doubt it will stay this way for long. That’s one of the things about living in Texas.

My kids are mostly the subjects in front of my lens. However, I got some nice one-on-one with our Golden after my kiddos went to bed. This is his “please leave me alone” face.
Sarah, Thank you so much for picking me as the winner this week!
Sarah!!! You’ve made my day, sweetie! Thank you for sharing my tiny toad photo, it makes me so happy to see it here! <3
