M4H P52 | Fatherhood Eye Candy
Yep back again already with some Eye Candy and a Winner for our Fatherhood theme. We leave for Connecticut TOMORROW and I haven’t packed a stitch for any of my four kiddos or myself. I am going to be busy busy tomorrow. And a reminder that I will be mostly offline until we get home sometime the middle of July. I will of course be checking in on my phone when I can but its going to be pretty hectic and the internet may be touch and go in the hotel.
Let’s get right to it. And due to the personal nature of this post it is SO not easy to choose.

My family went to our local Maize where they allow you to pick your own corn. I love this!
When I saw my son and his father helping each other, I knew this was the picture I wanted for fatherhood. After all, fatherhood is all about leading by example, teamwork, respect, love and learning. My kids have a great father!

I couldn’t have chosen a better man to be my husband and the father to our little girl. I love that she looks just like her daddy;)

Technically not the best photograph, but hand held long shutter is hard LOL!
There’s nothing that screams fatherhood more to me than when my military (and super masculine husband) does sweet little things for my daughter like riding the ever so girlie carousel. He’s amazing – and I couldn’t ask for a better husband, father for my children or friend.

P52/Week 25- Fatherhood. My father, the welder-philosopher, built us houses, barns, ponds, BMX courses, skate board ramps, riding rings and everything in between, all the while never ending a sentence with a preposition.

Happy Father’s Day!
My hubby (very handsome hubby, I may add) is not much of a camera person. It was such a joy for me when he agreed to have a short relaxed session with our two girls to celebrate Father’s Day this year.

~ Week 25 ~ Fatherhood ~
This Bible & Tie belonged to my Dad. The Tie still has the knot that he had tied. He passed several years ago. He was a Minister & his love for God was instilled in all of his Children. He taught us to Love God & to Love & help others as much as possible. When I think about Fatherhood I think about him & how much I miss him every day.

This morning my husband stayed home to wait for the plumber. I knew he was playing with our daughter while I made breakfast but when her giggles and excited chatter reached never before reached heights I had to peek. This is the heartwarmingly adorable (and yet incredibly sexy) sight that greeted me.

Being the mom to three little boys, I see the joy in their eyes looking up to their daddy and all that he does. Every time he mows the grass they beg him to let them “drive” and he lets them steer and they are so happy. I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband to teach his boys how to grow up and be men.

Amirah got her first roller skates. Daddy took her to try them out. And this is a little downtime together afterwards. I love watching them together.

Sometimes I think kids only see their parents as the roles they fill. Mom = food/taxi. Dad = money π
(Happy 50th birthday dad, I miss you! Hopefully you can come and visit us soon.)

She is his princess. The love of his life. I gladly defer my role as his “best girl” (I take a close second, ha!) to see the love between these two grow on a daily basis. This was taken this morning at our father’s day brunch, I even with all the table clutter, it makes me so happy to look at. These are truly the two loves of my life!

Fatherhood
This is a picture of my Papa and I back when I was a little girl. I love my Papa, he’s the most amazing man I’ve ever met, and he’s a wonderful man of God. Although I know I have my heavenly Father, he often plays the role as my daddy since my dad and I are not on speaking terms. It’s so nice to know that when I need a daddy, my Papa is always there to pick me up, dust me off, and help me through a little thing called life.

Oh wow, I barely got this in on time! With the move complete, and an unplanned 7 hour trip (one way, mind you) to Denver over, we are finally settling into our tiny rental. It’s nice to be together again, and to have Daddy help with the dirt jobs!

Daddy, what’dja leave behind for me?
Inspired by the Pink Floyd’s 1st part of “Another Brick in the Wall”
This is part of a series of photos based on all parts of the Pink Floyd Album “The Wall”
I never knew anything about my father. He was there my entire life, but compared to what most kids get to know about their parents, I didn’t know anything. He was never well. Things affected his mind. Living with him did quite a number on me. He was paranoid, sometimes delusional, neurotic. I don’t know what exactly made him that way. My mother couldn’t take it anymore and left him -and that was when he finally went off the deep end for good. My father loved me very much, but he was so protective of me that he kept me away from everyone else.
Right before he died he told me that he was proud of me -something I can’t remember him ever saying before. Never did he tell me that I was a disappointment, he just had problems with intimate relationships. He loved me very much. I must have been his greatest achievement; he kept pictures of me everywhere. When he died I found pictures of myself all over his house. Why he couldn’t just tell me how he felt will be somewhat of a mystery for me for the rest of my life. I don’t have many good things to go off of when I’m reminded of him. All I really know about him are the very few things he told me about his life; growing up, Vietnam, his time spent in art school, and everything I experienced growing up with him -which sadly overshadows every other thing about him. The most upsetting thing about it to me is that he was a brick in the wall.

My father and I live on opposite ends of the US and my husband and I have yet to have any children of our own, so on Father’s Day, I took this picture of a picture of myself with my dad 24 years ago. No matter where we live, I know he’s here for me always.
“On the beach at night,
Stands a child with her father,
Watching the east, the autumn sky.
Up through the darkness,
While ravening clouds, the burial clouds, in black masses spreading,
Lower sullen and fast athwart and down the sky,
Amid a transparent clear belt of ether yet left in the east,
Ascends large and calm the lord-star Jupiter,
And nigh at hand, only a very little above,
Swim the delicate sisters the Pleiades.
From the beach the child holding the hand of her father,
Those burial-clouds that lower victorious soon to devour all,
Watching, silently weeps.
Weep not, child,
Weep not, my darling,
With these kisses let me remove your tears,
The ravening clouds shall not long be victorious,
They shall not long possess the sky, they devour the stars only in apparition,
Jupiter shall emerge, be patient, watch again another night, the Pleiades shall emerge,
They are immortal, all those stars both silvery and golden shall shine out again,
The great stars and the little ones shall shine out again, they endure,
The vast immortal suns and the long-enduring pensive moons shall again shine.” -Walt Whitman
