  1. Wildflowers and Mountain Cuddles | Estes Park, CO Photographer

Sometimes there are simply TOO many favorite images. I literally can’t weed them down and so sometimes I decide I am totally just not going to. I am going to share them all because they deserve to all be included. When you are taking moment based images, they help tell a story. They are so much more than pictures. They are bits and pieces of who they are and how they love.

From the moment this family pulled up, I knew they were going to be fun. Their littlest daughter had the same name as my niece (and it isn’t a common name) so I felt like they were meant to find me. I sure do believe in fate. There was spinning and twirling and laying in the flowers. We literally used up every last drop of sunshine we had and when that was gone we basked in the blue hour (which truthfully happens to be my favorite.) Colorado summers are something to truly see.

  2. Motherhood in the Details | Denver Colorado Family Photographer

As much as I do love Christmas time and all the season has to offer, I also love our family adventures and all of the beautiful places our travels take us. This past summer we road tripped all over with our six children along for the adventures. It landed us in the gorgeous Lake Tahoe for a short time thanks to Pinterest and our oldest daughter having a case of wanderlust herself, where I got to photograph this Mama and her sweet boy. When we arranged travel, I hadn’t even thought of it being the fourth of July weekend so with a bit of finesse and finding a new location when we arrived because it was insanely busy where we had initially planned, we came away with some really stunning moments. You would think we were the only ones there this day.

And this Mama. She was so down to earth and so lovely, I felt like I had known her always. We had chatted some before our time together and she shared some of the beautiful images she had taken in Tahoe herself, so by the time our session approached I was pretty excited to get to work with her. Not only is she stunning but she is a wonderful photographer herself. I also marveled at how happy her little guy was. He was so content and sweet in her arms. I could have spent so much longer with them.

Our time in Lake Tahoe was truly adventurous to say the least. We battled the holiday crowds, but my favorite lens also broke in the middle of my very first session there (and it really was a blessing in disguise because I rekindled my love for a few of the lenses I rarely used), we stumbled on a random nudie beach (long story for another day haha) and got lost a couple of times in the insane hiking. We ultimately also came away with some of my most favorite sessions ever. I have a Colorado location very reminiscent of this one I am pretty excited to use next year. <3
