This place is extra special to me. It’s my grandmothers land. I grew up roaming these fields and I love to see my girl doing it too!
Lots of Eye Candy:

40/52: Letter of the Alphabet
Oh, these last few weeks have been rough around here. First my youngest with being bullied at school, and now my oldest having to deal with braces and mouth expander at 7 years old. This week has been a roller coaster for all of us, but we are finally making progress! So, for this picture I could choose many letters that fit…B for Braces, C for Changes, G for Growing Up….But I am choosing L. L for my son Logan who is strong, determined and the Light of my Life. I am so happy to see him Laugh after such a rough week 🙂

During a recent photo walk, we stumbled upon a small shop selling art and other funky items. These metal letters were just begging to be photographed.

I was at a loss this week as to what to do, but then my daughter brought home her Alligator A from kindergarten. It took me the rest of the week to figure out something to do with it. Then while vacuuming today I saw the girls’ dollhouse family and well, this is what I ended up with.

the letter “m” for Milky Way. a night shot with my new camera, i’m so excited I could actually start taking pictures of the milky way. my old camera I’ve been using was a Fuji finepix s1000fd and my new camera is a canon rebel t3. with a 8 second shutter on the Fuji I was very limited to what I can do for night shots, and with the rebel i’m amazed with the stuff I can do with it. but from the past week I’ve been sick as a dog (most likely due from taking this night shot picture lol) so I haven’t had the chance to really venture out 🙁

The word? Explore.
There’s always times in life that we are given chances. We need to take those chances more often. Go explore. Go on adventures.
I need to take some of that advice too.
And I need to go on a photo walk at my campus. Colours have started changing, and before I know it, all the leaves will be on the ground.
Lots of project deadlines around the corner! Ahhh…I’m just scared now. Need to get to work. This semester is just a huge amount of work.
Cheers!

Project 52/Letter of the Alphabet: “A” is the letter in large print on the back of her cape. She is a princess, ballerina and super hero all wrapped up into one brilliant little girl. “A” is for Augusta, my daughter.

C for Creepy library
My youngest has never seen Nightmare on Elm Street but he knows the Freddie character. It gave this shot in the University library an extra creepy feel.

L is for Lake Superior… we spent the last few days hiking and sightseeing Minnesota’s North Shore. When I saw my daughter dragging around pieces of driftwood, I thought it would make a pretty good L.

I’ve been working through some photography exercises, and this week I’m experimenting with long exposure. I still don’t have the hang of it, but when I read ‘letters of the alphabet’, I couldn’t help but give this a whirl. I think my model is done cooperating, though, or I’d keep trying!

40/52 A letter (of the alphabet)
M4H Project 52
We anxiously awaited for this letter that arrived for my son and gathered the whole family together before he opened it. It contains his mission assignment for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He volunteered to serve and it isn’t until a missionary opens the envelope that they know where in the world they are going to spend the next two years of their lives. He will be serving in a place that is very dear to my heart and also the state where he was born, Iowa!
