Week 12. Blue.
This is my husband’s dress blues cap, resting on his pillow, which has been unused for the past five months while he has been deployed in Afghanistan. He was injured during his first deployment there, and fought so hard to be able to regain all of the strength and mobility in his leg so that he could finish his commitment that he had made to the Army. As sad and worried as it makes me to have him deployed again, I am so unbelievably proud of him, of all that he has worked so hard to accomplish, and of his devotion to serving our country. Only a few more months until his head will be back in that hat and back on his pillow.

Week 12: Blue
These are all the items we have of our little man. The blue box with his name is the urn holding his ashes. The box below it are all his preemie belongings the NICU kindly and ever so carefully boxed up for us. His first pacifier, his first brush, his first outfit, cards with his handprints and footprints. The blue elephant is the gift our 4 year old daughter excitedly brought to the hospital to give to her baby brother but he passed just as she arrived.

Our 20 month old Blue Leopard Catahoula, Nash. At least he was born completely blue and silver but his traveling trim browned him out.
He loves food, sticks, barbies, and high heel shoes, but despises kite flying, weed whackers, and door bells.
