  1. Letters To My Daughters | Dearest Sophia

    Sweet Sophia,

It has been quite a while since my last letter and I admit this is somewhat overdue. Our family has undergone a bit of change and you have really began to grow and adapt and live right up to the challenges that have come your way. We welcomed a little baby boy into our family, a little brother seemingly just for you. You were the baby for many years and we all held our breath with anticipation as you met him for the very first time. Since that fateful moment it has been nothing but love behind your eyes. You want to help with every little thing.. and I let you. I let you because you are truly helpful but I also let you because I know that you see how important you are and how much you are coming to mean to your little Ezra. I watch how you coo over him and how his very first smiles are often aimed at you. I see how when you hold him you are careful to support his neck and you whisper in his tiny ears little bits of love and affirmation just as I do to you.  You are another little mommy to him.  I am always in awe of the dynamic and how sweet it is to watch you two.

I also know that despite your brave face there are moments when you need me all to yourself and I do my very best to accommodate you there. Not out of duty, but out of love. I want you to know you are just as special if not more so, and I am proud of you. I am so proud of you. And I love you. And you will always be our baby too.

    Love you!
    Mama

Now please head to my amazing friend Emma of Emma Wood Photography HERE and read her letter to her sweet girl!

Also as a special note thank you SO much to My Little Jules for sending this beautiful dress. It made Sophia feel so special!

  2. M4H Project 52 | Week 1/52 “Reflective”

I am so incredibly humbled, and so excited to embark on this project for our third year in a row. If you are just seeing this and would like to participate you can find information on just how to HERE. I do hope you will join us!

Our first week’s theme will be:

    Reflective.

    re·flec·tive
    adjective
    adjective: reflective

    1.
providing a reflection; capable of reflecting light or other radiation.
    “reflective glass”
    produced by reflection.
    “a colorful reflective glow”
    2.
relating to or characterized by deep thought; thoughtful.
    “a quiet, reflective, astute man”

I chose this theme for a couple of reasons. I love themes with double (or more meanings.) It gives ample room for creativity. I will say with a new year days away, we all have goals and hopes. We have plans and aspirations. I find at the start of a new year I am always reflective on the year that has past but also on the year ahead and all of the things I want to achieve whether it be in my family life or business. I thought this theme would also be perfect to get us to know a little something about each other if you would like to share. You can of course be as personal or vague as you like too. That is the beauty of this project. It isn’t rigid. It is about and for YOU.

I can not wait to see what you come up with! Remember you have free reign. You can be as literal or interpretive as you like. You can also disregard the theme and go your own way.

And as we wrap up our Project 52 tomorrow with our last Eye Candy post for 2013 I want to say how much it has meant to me to follow all of the amazing photographers that have taken part. Ultimately I would love more than anything for everyone to return but I understand sometimes we all need a bit of rest so if you are taking time off from this particular photo project know you are welcome back absolutely anytime.
    Happy Shooting!
