I know this is by no means sharp. But I like the grain and knowing how much
fun he had while he helped me make this picture this morning so thought I’d go with it!

7:00 a.m. This is the scene that greeted me from my front doorstep each day this week. It makes me depressed when usually I rise and am pretty “shiny” myself. Such is the price we pay to live so close to the ocean.

This is my view every morning when I drop my daughter off at school. I love how this mountain towers and rises above our little town. (This is also my first attempt at an HDR. It’s not perfect but I like it anyway.)

My little chick feeding his little chicks.

And what made it even funnier, we found our first egg this morning. And yes, he loves his costumes and likes to be a chicken when doing “chicken duty”. 🙂

    (52) week 43. rise and shine.

    (52) week 43. rise and shine.

A nature walk last week on campus opened my eyes, made me feel a little bit more alive.

Standing in the middle of giant trees, and surrounded by colour just made me feel so calm. I didn’t feel any stress, even though last week was a monstrous week. I’ve got a 25% presentation on Tuesday, and I’m working on it right now. Reading about circadian rhythms, and a possible way to get rid of jet lag? Sometimes these tiny little proteins in our body make all the difference.

Anyways, I need to rise and shine…and get to work! Lol.

I use to consider myself a runner. I have done a full marathon, a few half marathons and many other races. Life gets busy, especially with little ones and I just haven’t had the time or energy. I finally feel like I found my groove again…getting up before the kids and hitting the pavement! Next is to sign up for a race : )

Jon went in a little late this morning so he was able to eat breakfast with the girls. Excuse the fuzzy mess that is Finley’s “bed head.”

  2. M4H P52 Weekly Theme “Strength”

This week you can interpret this theme anyway you like. I think that self love is important and I welcome you to share a strength of yours. It can also be a more obvious interpretation of the theme and the image can be of something literally strong. You can really go with this anyway you like. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

I will be back Monday with Eye Candy to show you off from our previous week’s challenge!

Also, I want to reiterate that if you indeed are new to this project and want to jump in you are completely welcome. You can find details on what this project 52 is about HERE. If you want to hop in, please do! We love new faces and images in the group!

    The theme this week is:

    “Strength”

Happy Shooting! I am also focusing on next year since this year is winding down. I would ultimately love to continue this project. I do want to freshen things up a bit since we have been doing this a couple years now so I am trying to think of ways to improve on our project. If you have any suggestions please do touch base with me. I would love to hear them! You can use the blog contact form or post in our Flickr pool.
