  1. M4H Project 52 “Light” Winner and some eye candy.

I can honestly say choosing a winner and favorites for these posts never gets any easier for me. It can take upwards of 3 hours compiling these posts actually because I often times get so lost in the flickr gallery that I lose track of time. Every week I am seeing so much growth from everyone in the group and every week I am completely blown away and inspired by not only your commitment to the project but the AMAZING images you are all capturing. You are truly going to have something special to look back on at the end of the year. I have been taking photos, and the ones I havent get I plan to catch up on myself. I am so excited to share with you all what I have gotten here as well!! I think we all need to start a petition for longer days lol!!

So the winning photo this week seriously JUMPED out of the gallery at me. There were quite a few close contenders but I couldn’t stop going back to this image. Something about it just resonated so deeply. The lighting and the photo are both gorgeous but for me it really represents this age so well. My daughter is a preteen and there are so many highs and lows and the split lighting really represents that for me on a personal level!! Love this!! Please use the contact forms or email me at Sarah@Myfourhensphotography. com (remove spaces) to claim your 25.00 gift card to Amazon.com 🙂

I knew as soon as I saw the theme that I wanted to create light with a long shutter;) I love night photography so much and I haven’t been able to shoot Night Photography for so long. I love playing with the light in the midst of darkness;) I love that photography allows us to see things that we can’t see with the naked eye;) Anyways I uploaded 2 because I couldn’t decide which one I liked better ….. further away or up close. Please tell me which one you like better!!

    LIGHT 8/52 – Stolen Wish

This little girl turns 10 next week. There were cupcakes, candles and a two year old brother who came from behind and blew out her candles before the song was finished. I love the expression on her face and those of her friends. “He stole my wish!”

We had some fun with long exposures and a flashlight. This is the one I chose to submit for the 52 week project, but you can see some of my other shots from the set here and here.

I got a call from the school nurse about the goose egg he got on the playground at recess. I didn’t think it would show up so much in the pictures, but yep – THERE IT IS! Poor little guy.

This is a farm down the road from me. I love it – it has a little old barn that is a bit rundown but has such character and charm. I’m sad to say that the farm was recently sold and they are planning to build a new subdivision there.

    HFF by the way 🙂

They adore their daddy so much. One day soon they won’t be so ‘light” and he won’t be able to this anymore. I want us to cherish every moment of this. It sounds cliche but time really does move so fast when you have children.

  2. Monthly Personal Project | What Coming Home Looks Like

It has been quite a a week around here.  We went to Vegas for WPPI and I was absolutely excited to get there but even more excited admittedly to get home. I can’t even begin to describe how much I missed my family.  To say the least when we got to the baggage claim and I saw the faces of my four children I burst into tears.  I was debating brining my camera but didn’t want to miss a moment so I sacrificed the photos and loved all over my babies.  I am fairly sure I will not be going ANYWHERE without them for quite a long time. Tough Tough Tough.  Now that we have been home a couple of days we are easing into a routine.. but the house is completely demolished and its pretty nice to just let things go for right now and reconnect. To say that I missed them would be the understatement of the century!! My sister is staying indefinitely so that is an extra bonus! It feels so good to be with her!!

So I chose What coming home looks like this monthly installment of this project because it pretty much applies all around. My baby sister who is VERY close to me and ten years younger is here with me again (she came all the way from Connecticut) and I am back where I belong, with my babies at home!  Its been pretty mundane around here but I love these sweet little moments so thought I would just capture a few sweet photos of what we seem to be doing best these days. Chilling out. And I am on instagram at my4hens if you are interested at all in my Vegas pics. Not a lot but I only used my phone to take pictures there because I am completely lazy LOL!

Edited to add some Instagram fun!

Now next up: Jules Trandem | San Diego Lifestyle Photographer ! You can find her post right HERE. You will LOVE Jules!! She’s a rock star!!! (Hi Jules Tandem!!)
