M4H P52 “Imperfection” Eye Candy
Jumping into our second Project 52 Eye Candy Post of the year and again I am completely amazed at all the wonderful shares. There are so many stories. There are so much beauty. Most importantly there is such a special community forming. A community I am proud to be a part of. As a refresher, every Monday I browse the Flickr Group, the Facebook Group and the Fan Page for image shares to feature here from our project 52’s past weekly theme. I generally don’t limit the amount of images I choose. That is nearly impossible lol!
My “Imperfect” image for this week.

Week 2:Imperfection.
Such a personal picture for me. After having my first son I was so self conscious about my body, I felt ugly on the outside. My body wasn’t what it once was, and probably would never be again. After my second son was born I realized how beautiful my body actually was. I created these two “perfect” little humans. So here is my imperfection that is so perfect to me.
Lots of Eye Candy!

“Real isn’t how you are made….it’s a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real. It doesn’t happen all at once. You become. It takes a long time. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.” said the Skin Horse to the Velveteen Rabbit

Week 2/52: Imperfection – 1
In a perfect world we would continuously interact and play with our children. I often strive for this, but at times I do resort to technology to help me accomplish the not-so-fun duties of being a mother.

week 2, imperfect
under a travel emergency, -11 degrees, over a foot of snow on the ground, and honestly not a lot to do in the house…all imperfect things except the only thing that matters…our family, safe, healthy, happy and most of all together. Imperfect days are perfect days.

To say I LOATHE doing the dishes is an understatement. Strept, sinus infection and the stomach flu hitting our house in the same week has been pretty brutal on the kitchen.

I am so thankful that even in my imperfection that I can praise and worship my God and He does not see me in my imperfection. Another note on this image is that I love to sing songs to my Lord, my voice is far from perfect but it does not stop me. I might aggravate my kids singing the wrong words at times but its okay because I treasure those memories of my mom doing the same and I hope one day they will as well. My husband says I sound like an angel but that man has such a passionate love for me that I think he has some sort of muffs that make it sound that way to him and the sheer joy to know that he deeply does mean what he says are the times I come out of the tub from singing and my hubby is wiping his tears. Our love over the years has been imperfect at times but I am thankful that God makes all things good and perfect in His time!

In this image I’m drinking from a mug my son and I painted as a Valentine’s Day gift to my husband in 2009. Much to my dismay, the handle recently broke off in the dishwasher. My first thought was to pack it up and save it but I would rather enjoy it now. I have such a sentimental attachment to it that I will continue to use it until I no longer can

2/52: Imperfection- This image is imperfect in so many ways but I just love it. I used the lensbaby + macro and just played with the focal point until I liked the drop off, not really focusing at all. It’s totally out of my comfort zone and totally going on my wall. I love happy accidents.

Woke the other morning to a beautiful sunrise out my bedroom window. Knew I only had a few moments before it would be gone and my big camera was upstairs, so I rolled over and grabbed my little Canon Ixus and snapped this. Imperfection yes (but still captured). Life doesn’t have to always be perfect! — in Springfield, Australia.

I adore my dog, but the dust bunnies she produces is the bane of my existence. I do believe it’s her only imperfection, yet it often brings to light many of my own imperfections, like focusing on stuff that’s not really important, like dust bunnies when I should be focusing on my family. I’m evolving. lol I am really enjoying seeing all your interpretations of “imperfection”

Week 2 – IMPERFECTION
This week i had a lot of different ideas in my head, different directions I could go with this but in the end I just really loved the feel of this shot the best. Something about the way the light comes through the fabric – I just love it. The original idea behind using this piece of lingerie was because it is so old and not in the best condition but something that is meaningful to me because of the history that it has. And even though this is a “technically” imperfect shot I really wanted to just let the background be blown out. I think it sort of conveys the lightness of the dress and how fragile it is. *side note – this dress was my grandmothers and is from Italy and she gave it to me Thanks Nonna!!

Imperfection. Being a mom is rough. I’ve cried more times about whether I am doing it right than I care to count. It’s taken me a bit to come to this, but finally I have. I am not a perfect mother. I will never be a perfect mother. I love my babes & take care of them the best way I know how. Mistakes are made along the way, and at the end of every day I know that they know I love them more than any words could possibly say. Imperfections and all.

Week 2/52 – Imperfection
You will probably see a lot of my posts about this little guy. This is Knox. Knox is our twin survivor. He was born 16 weeks early, and is our former 24 weeker. He has overcome so much in the past 44 weeks of his life. Avoiding a PDA ligation, having eye surgery, breathing machine after breathing machine, damaged lungs (still overcoming), grade 3 and 4 brain bleeds, brain damage, multiple blood transfusions, kidney stones (still overcoming) massive hernias and I’m sure I’m forgetting something. This imperfect child of mind is absolutely perfect. I can wait for the day we can bring him home

This is not your ‘normal’ equine with these long ears and braying sound but SO sweet and humble! They carry the cross on their back which is definitely a great daily reminder for me to try to be more ‘perfect’! (It is said that a donkey carried Mary to Bethlehem and is also referred to as a Nativity Donkey and on the trip to Egypt. The donkey has a cross on its back because it was said to believe that these donkeys carried Jesus to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.)

We live in a very old home with creaking noises and imperfections, but there is so much here to love. What makes it a home, and not just a house, is the love that spills over here day after day.

My mom is currently battling Breast Cancer and was brave enough to allow me to take these images of her. Although some may consider scars to be an imperfection, I find them beautiful. They tell stories of our adventures, our sorrows and all that we have overcome. I look at my mom’s scars and I see her strength and the grace that she has. When I was a little girl I remember tracing the “Z” on her hand before falling asleep. I look at her now and admire her for the person she is. Our bodies are not US and they do not define who we are, but those scars sure do say a lot.

I struggled with this weeks theme. I usually only shoot portraits so when this weeks theme went up I was at a total loss of what to photograph. Then yesterday after breakfast when I had forgotten to put away the strawberries, my one year old took a bite into each one of the strawberries. So here are some “imperfect” strawberries.

I went back and forth about this- as more times then not, I am not proud that I need to take this. This is one of my things that I call my “perfect-imperfect”- I know I am not society perfect, but God created me with all my flaws out of love- I just need to keep reminding myself that everyday ~ Jax Creations Photography

“We are all wonderful, beautiful wrecks. That’s what connects us–that we’re all broken, all beautifully imperfect.” -Emilio Estevez
We’re all perfectly imperfect. I have a crooked nose, one eye higher than the other, no matter how hard I try I can’t seem to keep my desk clean for longer than 24 hours, I stay in my pajamas until I absolutely need to change, I stack my dirty dishes in the sink instead of washing them right away, I have a very narrow temperature range I can tolerate (ranging from 68-75 degrees), I have food allergies ranging from gluten to watermelon (yes, watermelon), and a passionate soul that often gets mistaken for a bad temper.
And although I’m working on some of these things (for my fiance’s sake haha), I honestly can say that I’ve come to embrace all my imperfections because it is what makes me who I am

It is imperfection that can leave us feeling like less of a person, like everyone else is better than us. Because someone can read faster than you or because they finish their rocket math before you. You will continue to learn, grow and find your true self. You will learn to read faster and you will master rocket math. And remember this..
It is also imperfections that make someone or something extraordinary, amazing, talented, or unique. This is how I choose to see imperfections.
gorgeous picks!
I don’t know how you can narrow it down! All these images are stunning.
