I really struggled with this one, but then I had some inspiration from my lovely friend Kyren. I popped over for a visit this morning, and she gave me this rainbow head massager! It feels amazing, and definitely heightens your sense of touch, as well as sight with its vibrant happy colors.
And lots of eye candy!

Play doh! It is a fun activity for the all the senses:
Smell- the sweet smell,
Touch- the smooth texture,
Sight- the creations they make,
Taste- well they try it at least once, and
Sound: the stories, the laughter, and the questions about
why Mum is standing on the table to take the photo.

Soak it Up
This week marks the return of school for us. Jackson started Pre-K this week, which brought me to tears as I opened the doors to drop him off.
Any who… while we were on our late afternoon walk, I snapped this of Jackson. I can {see} him soaking up the warm, summer sun, {smelling} the fresh air, and I can {hear} childhood calling. For me, there are lots of emotions this week. I love this image of my oldest baby.

On a whim last night I decided to make these cookies. They are called Crazy Confetti Compost Cookies and have about a billion different things in them. So, I undoubtedly had to go with taste for our five senses! So yummy!

The end of summer is near. I can feel the air getting cooler, see the trees and the leaves beginning to change. I can see it in her face too, the look of nastalgia and how much she loves summer.

M4H Week 34 ~ The Five Senses
Friday is Market Day in our little Belgian town. It is one of my favorite things to do because it really does open up all of the senses. When you walk up you hear everyone saying “Bon jour!” and I think of the scene from “Beauty and the Beast” when Belle goes to the market. Also, as you walk up you see the beautiful breads, pastries, fresh flowers, veggies, fish, and cheeses. You smell them all too and each one at just the right moment. The best thing is you can taste your food especially some of the yummy fruits and then pick out the ones you want. It definitely invokes all of the five senses and makes for a joyful and fun experience! The best part about this picture is that the man that runs the patisserie allowed me to access his cart and take pictures from inside. It was such a great experience and I really felt even more a part of the market.

The five senses… I love this weeks theme. For some reason when I captured this picture it reminded me of all 5 – something about that late afternoon summer breeze with wind in your hair, dirt between your toes, and the sun glittering off the water…

Sidewalk Chalk:
Colorful! Fun to look at and play with.
*Clinking* sound it makes when pieces touch each other – and the distinct chalk to sidewalk *scroooosh*
Scent reminiscent of school days and summer fun…
The way it feels smooth and soft on your fingers…
And taste? Not necessarily something I’d eat on purpose!

Ordinary Day
“Time stands still best in moments that look suspiciously like ordinary life.” ~Story People
I love the way kids seem to see everyday life as though it has all the potential in the world. This one wakes up and immediately asks “What fun things will we do today?” To me, that way of living sort of personifies the five senses and embracing them completely.

There is nothing like football season to heighten the 5 senses. If you are a football fan, you’ll know what I mean. I always look forward to this time of year.
The sight of your favorite player.
The smell of the turf.
The sound of cheers from the crowd.
The feel of the cool, crisp fall air.
The taste of hotdogs and soda.

The Five Senses
My cousins came to visit last week, and so when I saw the theme on Sunday I knew I had to do the infamous “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” picture with them. I think they enjoyed helping me out, although I don’t think they’d ever admit it. 😉

There she is…my baby sister. She is all grown up now, and getting ready to have a baby. We’re gathered here planning her baby shower…welcoming my niece. I am so happy…my senses are on overload. I can see my sister blossom into motherhood, hear the plans happening around me and feel my heart swell with pride. This is a very special time right now. Our family is overjoyed

Project 52: Week 34 {The Five Senses}
The tiny little fingers that barely wrapped around my thumb eight years ago are now almost as big as mine. With the new school year about to start, I’m thinking about how fast time goes. The theme this week is making me extra emotional. On the inside, I’m a big baby about it.
The “five senses” theme reminded me of how important touch is. It reminded me of a time when a simple touch made a big difference in my heart forever. Before I was married and had a child, I use to volunteer once a week at a children’s hospital. I was all done with my shift one night and I could hear a newborn crying so loud and all upset. I asked the nurse in charge of that section if I could go in and hold the baby. She told me that I could but that it would not make a difference. She told me that he was born from a mom who did drugs and that most likely I would not be able to console him. It broke my heart. I couldn’t just walk away. I walked over and picked him up. The second I picked him up, he stopped crying. Then I started! I sat and rocked that baby for about 3 hours. He slept the whole time. It was so hard to walk away and leave him there while he was waiting for someone to choose him to take home and love. I often wonder what became of him.
