What “Reality” Looks Like | Personal Project

This month was a blur. Seriously. Well December was anyway. The kids go back to school tomorrow and I am actually sad. I actually had to hurry to get this together because I put everything till last minute (as always) but it is totally okay. It is okay because that is our life. Real. Messy. Complicated. Glorious. Spontaneous. Fun.

We had a beautiful Christmas. Very laid back with just our family. Then we had my best friend’s four kiddos sleep over a couple days later (yes 8 kids!) and that was amazing. We put plays on, made a HUGE mess of the house (that we are still trying to recover from.) and just really made an adventure out of it.

I suppose these photos probably speak for themselves though so I am just gonna post em’!

And be sure to follow our amazing circle (we just added more talent!) To see what everyone else has to say! Up after me is the talented Wendy Vonsosen Photography HERE.

I love this post! I love how you captured it all. I love how you embrace the messy, complicated, spontaneous and fun because it reminds me of my crazy, chaotic family and reminds me to look for the beauty in the chaos.

    13. BEAUTIFUL!! beautiful kids, beautiful moments… gosh, I feel ya on the back to normal routine- christmas break needs to last two months, not two weeks! ๐Ÿ™‚

    14. What a busy house!!! love it all though….the playing the running around! It must never be dull there. My favorite though is S in her towel with just her lips showing. They are perfection. its always so delightful to peak into your house and all your beautiful “babies”!

    15. amy grace says:

sarah, this is my favorite kind of post from you. yes, it is messy, but it’s the kind of full heart, beautiful messy that we should all aspire to. and that you can find and frame these powerful and tender images in your house, in low light, with everyone moving and doing and living, is a huge testament to the kind of talent and spirit you possess. you make big families look like heaven. i am so lucky to know you. you make us all feel a little better about our days, every day, and so generously and honestly share yours. love you friend.

    16. I love the beautiful chaos of your month. It looks very familiar. I love your daughters’ crazy morning hair. I love how your youngest is sitting on the counter stirring up something yummy. As I scrolled down some more I came to her second image and said to myself, “Oh, she’s still stirring with that cute tutu on.” And your wall came out beautiful as well. Your month looks like it was filled with fun, childhood memories and lots of togetherness. Beautiful! xox

    17. I love the one where the letters are falling off the wall! Glad to know I am not alone. Beautiful. ๐Ÿ™‚

    19. Sarah, it’s a beautiful blur though. Love your back and whites…the one of Lilly sitting in what looks like a rocking chair. Stunning stunning. Always love to look at your images. Xo
