Unreal, Unexpected and AMAZING | Connecticut Family Photography

What an experience. Seriously I love love these images. I warn you now there may be a bit of over share going on lol! I get so lost in my work sometimes. I know that a lot of families are totally expecting to come to a session, be posed, moved around and generally told what to do. While that is totally okay with some photographers because that is typical of their style its not mine so things definitely don’t go down that way when I work.  I of course totally love to direct or help set things up but what happens from there is all my clients. I don’t want their connection or emotion to be diluted or watered down. I want their reactions, their smiles, the body language to be as genuine as possible. When they look at their session photos I want them to remember how they felt that day.  What they were thinking at that moment. What their children’s personality was like at that time.

This mama is a photographer herself. She came down to me from New York with her gorgeous family and I wanted to really deliver her something special. She is super talented herself and I know that she can take absolutely GORGEOUS images of her children so if she was making such a long trip (about 5 hours in the car) to come see me I wanted her to have something unique and different and timeless and special. I think we achieved that. I really do.

Traffic threw a wrench in our plans but really we didn’t need as much time as I expected. We started shooting around 7:15ish or so I believe and had about an hour of light before the sunset. I am not one that is totally limited though to just sunset so once the sun was clearly just about gone I continued to shoot. I got some of my favorite photos ever this day in fact. And R (The fab mama of these four beauties) was also kind as to provide entertainment and do the best butt wiggle I have EVER seen lol!!!! It got the kiddys to giggle during the end. I almost wish we coulda opened with that lol!!

Oh and as we were walking off of the beach and tot he parking lot I noticed the small sliver of beach usually there to get to the parking lot was gone causing us to have to either brave the tall grassy patch or walk in the ocean. I assumed maybe the tide had come in. Well we got back to what WAS the parking lot because it was totally underwater.. insane! But GORGEOUS! You will see what I mean!
