2015 is literally a day away, and I can not think of a better way to ring in the new year than to share some of the highlights of the amazing families I had the honor of photographing in 2014. Warning: Image overload.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making 2014 so incredibly special. I can not wait to get started all over again soon enough!

Week 52/52: I was hesitant on posting this because I had already posted a “Celebration” picture, but this has been a very trying time for the NYPD and I needed to share. We lost 2 of our Police Officer’s last Saturday and I have realized that there is no family like My Brother’s and Sister’s in Blue. Even though 2 of my brother’s are no longer with us, I Celebrate their life and what they lived for. Doing their job to protect others. (So I hope you don’t mind, I guess this is also my way of remembering them)

We celebrated our first Christmas at our cabin in the mountains and got the gift of beautiful fresh snow on Christmas eve. I know I have been a bit inconsistent this year but I have loved this project and so appreciate all of the support from this group and also am so grateful for Sarah Cornish and her efforts on our behalf

I hardly ever take pictures when we open gifts.. but I thought this one might be special. For those that don’t know this is an American Girl box. Inside is Isabelle. Apparently she didn’t think she would actually get her. She screamed so loud her brother cried. And so did I. I am such a sap. Celebration indeed. I love being able to give such joy to my kids. And I also want to say thank you to this group of fabulous photographers and My Four Hens for this year. I have been inspired to push myself and create some things I am really proud of. I can’t wait to do it all again next year!!

M4H 52/52: Celebration. One of the best parts of my Christmas celebration was when I received these baby moccasins that I received originally on my first Christmas 38 years ago, in 1976, when I was 3 weeks old. (Can you receive the same gift twice?) I actually have very similar shoes now. My dad just thought it would be fun to give them to me. I wore them a few times when I finally fit into them around 18 months old, and I do remember wearing them.

{celebration} for us here in Germany the main Christmas celebration is on the 24th. As a mum, and adult I find it crazy how this time flies sometimes. Christmas used to be such a magic – so I try to take a pause from doing doing doing sometimes and just think of the what christmas is really about. This advent calendar I got is such a treasure – you light a candle every day and just take a pause from the hectic in life.

    [52/52]: Celebration

Celebrating the completion of my first Project 52. It wasn’t easy and I spent the majority of the time weeks behind (so I never posted most of my images), but I stuck with it. Looking from this side of the finish line, I am so proud of the journey, and how I grew personally and photographically.

Thank you Sarah for hosting this project. I am sure that it is a bit of a challenge for you at times, but your efforts are appreciated.

In a sea of holiday photos this week, my celebration comes in the form of it being warm enough to be in the pool with our boys this weekend. I missed time photographing my own family after a few months of not being motivated after photographing other families, and truly celebrating a few weeks off with them and selfishly getting my camera out for just me and them and soaking up every second until they go back to school!!!
