This is my friend Jess and her son Tanner. Tanner is 5 – one year older than Alexander. I remember meeting Tanner…. he didn’t walk or talk or sit. *you know the drill*
Our sons’ syndrome define our lives in so many ways. Tanner has defied the odds. 2 years ago he learned to sit. He learned to eat. Last year he learned to walk with a walker and now he dances… even alone.
Weakness: we both feel it. For our sons. For ourselves. Can we be the parent we need to do? Is my child strong enough to overcome his genetic deletion?
This photo is my grasp of weakness. They both say “yes” …. I can be the parent I need to be and “yes” he can overcome his obstacles. They give me hope in my moments of weakness. Others give her hope.
We both have hope for strength. Our weaknesses will not define us

M4H 29/52: Weakness. I’m a good eater. But I have a thing for chocolate. Just dark chocolate. Possibly expensive dark chocolate. I buy bags of expensive chocolate chips and have a few at a time a couple of times a week to satisfy my craving for chocolate. Yum.

This photo reveals several of my weaknesses…an adoration of cheese and wine as well as the fact that my dogs have access to every inch of our house, including furniture and beds. I have always wanted to be one of those owners that is in control. I am not. Just one of my many weaknesses.

this picture was taken by my son Immanuel Tamang (8yo). It is his submission for this week and he commented it like this: Mommy you are my weakness, bc it means that you love someone really really much – can I take your picture this week.

Awww I loved this idea an the result.

It is my submission as well – bc I have a weakness for vintage dresses as you can see 🙂

I really struggled with this theme. There are so many different definitions and interpretations of the word weakness and I couldn’t help but think about the word’s negative sides, and that can be hard to express and very personal. I don’t get personal very often, and it’s hard to open up and make it about myself. I especially don’t take self portraits. But it’s all I could think about.

I am not always the strong person I try to appear on the outside. Sometimes I feel a weight on my shoulders. I do all the things I’m supposed to do, but at the end of the day I feel tired and weak. I feel aching in my neck and back that never really go away.

We all have weaknesses, we all feel weak sometimes. But maybe being able to push through and keep going, look at the positive side of things and be grateful for the life we’re living really makes us strong.

I thought this week I would probably do coffee, I love it so much. But then we went to the store last night and I realized, I cannot go in to a store without checking the make up section and at least getting a bottle of nail polish. It’s ridiculous, I realized just how many I had when putting them all into this large hurricane vase. Crazy!

My weakness is milk… it’s such a sweet and innocent little thing but because I’m lactose intolerant, I stay away from fresh milk as much as possible. I guess not drinking milk also means that I have weak bones??

    Weakness

There are many weaknesses I struggle with… SO SO many. But I realised my biggest weakness is myself. It all starts with ME.

I can choose to let these get me down, or I can pick myself up, keep going and accept. After all, if I don’t have weaknesses – I don’t have strengths right? It all has to balance out somewhere I figure!! 🙂

    29/52 Weakness

This week made me really reflect on me and who I am. What makes me ‘strong’ and what are my ‘weaknesses’? It was really easy to concentrate on my weaknesses this week; wine, chocolate and staying up too late indulging in them both! But I realised my biggest weaknesses were my kids. Do I push them hard enough? Am I too hard on them? Could I be doing a better job as a mother, and as a parent and role model? Yesterday we climbed a mountain (well a small mountain) and I realised that my weakness and my self doubt as a mother was actually what makes me ‘strong’. These kids make me climb metaphorical mountains every day, and I love them to bits.

Stray cats are my weakness, or cats in general really, especially kittens. Meet Happy, he is one of 4 cats at our house, and probably our favorite.. not that anyone is choosing favorites or anything. “/
