Photography is my “art therapy”. I am so grateful for this group. There are some weeks when I’m forced to pick up my camera because I’m committed to this project and I’m so glad I have that extra push. I need this outlet…it’s part of me.

A small milestone for my daughter has been conquered! She has tried so hard for a long time to pump her feet and swing on her own. She had a hard time getting the motion down. About a month ago she did it and was so proud! We went to the park early in the morning this week and I was able to capture her in motion swinging all by herself!

We had the best time at the NCAA Track and Field Championships today. Amazing athletes and perfect weather. My level of respect for sports photographers has always been high, but it’s through the roof after today. 🙂

Water in ‘motion’! It’s been so hot here this last week that the boys have needed to cool off under the sprinkler. Too much fun running around the garden and getting soaked…love summer!!!

All good things are wild and free, and you, my dear, are both. My sweet Maya, this week’s theme fits you to a T. You are always moving, climbing, and jumping. When you were little I joked with you once that when you were born you took some of my energy with yours. You remind me of the explanation all the time when I am tired after a long day of work and you are bouncing off the walls, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I discovered this arrow last year in an alley in town, and I knew I wanted to do something with it. A couple days later, I went down to do this exact shot, and there was a trailer parked in front of it. For over a year, that trailer was always there.

A couple days ago, it was finally gone! — at Barbara Jo Photography.

I’m on my first long road trip with my husband and two young daughters. Even though my husband has been fairly understanding of my need to document our memories, there’s no way we can stop as much as I want to! So, out of lemons, I made motion-blurred images This was captured as we drive through the badlands of ND.
