M4H “Inside” Winner and Eye Candy

Our Third week of Eye Candy is here! There are so many stories. I am loving our groups on Flickr and Facebook. I feel like I am getting to know you all so well by your images alone. We are certainly building a special community. I try to pop in and comment when I can but I am always reading, always checking in and out throughout the week. This week’s Eye Candy is going up a bit later than normal due to the holiday here in the states. Our children are home for the day and I am a family first kinda gal so when they are all home from school our posts will be up in the evenings versus the mornings. (My time which is MTN time zone.)

As a refresher, every Monday I browse the Flickr Group, the Facebook Group and the Fan Page for image shares to feature here from our project 52’s past weekly theme. I generally don’t limit the amount of images I choose. That is nearly impossible lol!

The winter is getting long… on a cold January morning as the sun was just coming up, all I wished I could do was stay inside. But, no such luck. It was off to school and work for the kids and I.

I took this today after I got home from a long week at work while my little one was painting. I was trying to decompress and squeeze in some practice with a lensbaby in between a session of listening to my older daughter’s preschool teacher express concern that she was overly emotional this week and my littlest’s bath time. Of course she proceeded to poop in the tub (and again on her sister’s rug when I took her out to clean the bath poop) because that’s just the way the week is going around here.

I looked at it later and thought to myself that this is exactly how I feel on the inside right now. All the colors of my life, mother, wife, daughter, student, sister and professional, are all running over one another and sometimes it’s beautiful and sometimes it’s not. Inside and out, it’s a beautiful mess of an existence.

You never know what you will find inside an old drawer. Last Thanksgiving my brother and I were discussing our photography and our grandmother said there may be some of our grandfather’s photo stuff still in his drawer. Our poppy has been gone 24 years this month but she still had his dresser drawers intact. Both of us found some really nice keepsakes inside of this drawer.

Sometimes I wish I could get inside his head, to know his thoughts and catch a glimpse of his wonderful imagination at work. As I sat inside my warm truck getting ready to run through the rain into Freddy’s (even tho it should be snowing I do live in Alaska) I could’t stop looking at the beautiful sky. Here I sat while people all around me where running to grabbing this or that, finishing up their day or just starting theirs. I couldn’t help but smile because as I too needed to be running I took a minute to stop inside this busy world to enjoy something simple. I realized it’s not about what’s going on all around us, what matters most is what’s going on right inside your heart…. we all live inside our own little worlds

There is so much going on inside this body. There is the obvious: the pregnant, growing belly. Then there is the overflow of emotions- the overwhelming joy and love, and the anxiety and insecurities that also come with growing a baby. It’s hard to comprehend how I am going to love another child as much as my first son, but I hear your heart grows with each new addition, rather than splits. While I am being pulled in a million directions throughout the day, this little one is moving around inside of me like crazy-constant reminders of the miracle growing inside of me.

I love living in a rural place with winding back country roads. These friends were spotted as they walked towards the fence line. My daughter stayed in the car while Crazy Mommy jumped out and got a few shots. They came right over to me for a few minutes…and left when they realized I wasn’t going to feed them.

Taken for theme ‘inside’. A perfect opportunity to do a still life and use some textures, something I haven’t done in a while. I am not 100% happy with this but I need to upload and move on 🙂 I was going for a darker look here than my usual work. I used a softbox app on my tablet and turned all the lights out to get some directional lighting.
