Week 47/52 – Out and About

Last weekend I had the opportunity to meet a bunch of girls I greatly admire in a community I adore: Girl Hearts Camera/Light Inspired. I flew all the way to Virgina to visit my dad along with participating in the weekend getaway at the Warthan Farm (if you know Warthan Farm Photography, that’s the one!). So we were definitely out and about photographing as much as we could in the limited time we had in the country! COming from the desert, seeing the autumn colors made my heart sing! I seriously miss seasons! 😛

Today a fellow Army wife had to bury her daughter. She was just a few months older than big dude and lost her brave fight against cancer. I’m honored that I got to meet her when we were stationed together years ago.
Pink was her favorite color and everybody that couldn’t make it to the memorial service released pink balloons in her honor and we were asked to share the photos with the family.

I had hoped to visit my favorite Arizona town for some “street” photos but we all got sick. This wildlife refuge was as far as we got. 🙂 This is a sanctuary for cranes, deer and other desert wildlife. This year, there was actually water and green reeds along with the yellow fall trees. Absolutely beautiful with the blue sky/mountains for a backdrop.

I had a photo session this week with a super cute couple. I stepped out of my comfort zone a bit and took them all over town for photos. I usually stick to my regular locations, but I really wanted to so something different.

One of our stops was at a local park, where they had some laughs drinking hot chocolate and cuddling on a blanket in the snow. It was a little damp, but so much fun!

I am glad I tried something new because I got some adorable, unique and fun images out of it.
