M4H Photography Project 52 | Join me in a Photo a Week!!

This year I am embarking on something entirely different then the norm. I am making photography goals and I intend to stick to them. I want to grow. I want to be inspired. I want to flourish. I am ready. I need more photos of my own family. My kids. Myself even.

Starting January 1st, 2012 I will be hosting a VERY special Project. I invite you all to follow a long and grow and be inspired with me! The Project will run from 1/1/2012 and will be completed 1/1/2013. What is this project?! Simple. A photo a week for every week of the year. 52 weeks. You will come out of this project hopefully feeling fulfilled, with a memento of every week of the year. Something special for you. Whether you are a hobbyist or a seasoned professional this is something that you want to do to! Why?! Because it isn’t about your clients, it isn’t about perfection. Its about you. Its about your family, your life. So lets begin this journey together. I know that as a team, as a group we can do this. We can hold each other accountable. We can make this happen.

So now you are probably wondering how this works? That is simple enough too! I have created a Flickr group. If you are not familiar with Flickr it is an amazing online photo sharing community. I will post a theme. One word for the week. You can either choose to follow the theme or create your own. Once your photo is ready to be shared just upload it to the flickr group. If you aren’t into Flickr thats totally okay too. Every week at the completion of the week I will be be posting the new theme to give you time to think it over or take your photo right here on my blog. You can simply upload your image to a photo sharing site such as photo bucket and link it in the comments section of that post. You can find the Flickr group I created HERE. I will also be choosing a couple photos from the Flickr pool to feature along with the new theme so a bit of incentive to sign up! And if you choose not to use the theme I provide, great but please be sure to add a little something something about what your photo represents for that week in the description box of your photo (or posted along with the photo if you don’t use flickr.) You are also welcome to blog your photos on your blog and share them on Facebook!! And spread the word with your friends, the more then merrier!! I am even hoping to get some prizes on  board for every week for one special photo. Be warned though. I said this project was simple. Not easy.

It isn’t a rigid project with a ton of rules. You do not need to use my Photoshop resources. This again is about you and YOUR photos. I just hope you choose to participate and share with me!

So in the spirit of our very first week coming up January 1st-January 7th 2012 I am revealing our first theme. The word will be:

    Resolution.

It should help convey your goal. It can be subjective or literal. Its all in how you want to interpret it!

And you are also welcome to share your images on my Fan page. You can find my fan page HERE or at http://www.facebook.com/myfourhens.

Happy New Years!!!! I can’t wait to get started!!

I’m in and I am late! I still have a few days to take a picture. I don’t use flickr much anymore. I really wasn’t thinking of doing another project, since I failed in my 52 weeks and slacked on my 365(but I did complete it!) so hopefully I can keep up with it. I’ll be posting images on fb instead and just tagging you in it.

    13. […] My Four Hens Photography started a Project 52 for the New Year.  It is basically a way for me to spend time documenting my year.  One of my resolutions is to spend more time this year taking photos for pleasure, and this is the first step in that direction.  I was so excited when I heard about Project 52. I have been thinking about joining a Project 365, but knew that it might be too much for me to keep track of.   One photo a week is much more manageable! […]

Starting my 52 Week Challenge tomorrow. I may even turn it into the 365 but I know how hard it is to take a picture EVERYDAY even on days that you plan to take pictures!
